Default What to do when killing time pumping gas....

Took this pic with my tele-device (cellphone) in July...something about it just seems so cool....I like the front wheel view filling the wheel opening...let's see some more impromptu shots at the pumps (hose must be included)... only 3 more months to go here in Michigan!

At a dealer show last June, someone though to be funny and 'connected' the hybrid hose to an unsuspecting victom!

Personally, I like to light up a cigar to pass the time while pumping gas. Helps to overpower all the gas fumes. Also, no one wants to park next to me so I don't get any door dings.

Does it not bother you to let the gas cap hang against the paint like that? I always hang mine on the inside of the door. I'm probably just paranoid about stuff like that, but it freaks me out to think about having little scratches in that area from that.

The cap is plastic, not metal.

I always hang my cap. Plastic or not its the dirt between the cap and paint that causes scratches.

You're going to have to wait at least another two months before I can get a shot like that. Car isn't leaving the garage anytime soon with it being the middle of winter.

A man after my own heart. A cigar kills the taste of tooth paste in the morning also.

If I took a pic there now there would be slush at the pumps and people shivering with their hands tucked in the down-filled jackets!

After I had my blue GS fender stripes put on I can't pull into any gas station without at least one person coming over to gaze in fond envy and talk to me about my pride and joy. I especially get a kick out of the reactions it gets from little kids.

"Daddy/Mommy! Look at the race car! It's so cool! Can we get one?"

Now that you reminded me, a few summers ago I was pumping gas at Costco and 2 other Torch Red C5s were there at the same time! People were in awe of the sight, and so was I....I did not make this up.

Well, actually not "all" gas doors had the metal tab. Mine ('99), and I think the earlier year model C5s, have a "Fuel tank filler cap holder" that is attached to the hinge area of the door. Semi-circular piece of black plastic that holds the cap. GM only installed them for a couple years, not sure which ones exactly.
