I'm tired of not being able to drive at night ..... Without spending a small fortune is there a low beam light that's made for our cars that's worth a crap ?
Have any of you'll taken the high beam out and moved them to the low beam side ? Heck it can't be that much brighter cause they both suck ....
James,I have JW's lower opening version with out the shrouds, yes they're bit pricey, but are awesome. Also check out George's (Radioflyer) version, native Texan and seems to have great products. Good luck,L8R ZFLASH
With all the money you have spent on your car I do not think it would hurt TOO MUCH for you to spend $ 350 or so to get the projector kit from JW Motoring with the HI-4 harness. This gives you a HID low beam with a great light output that does not blind other drivers that stays on when you put on your high beams.
I got the 55 watt 5000K HID low beams for my Z06 and they throw out a wall of white light. Here are the pictures again.
Low beam.
After wasting $40 on Ebay HID's, I bought PIAA low beam bulbs...I don't remember the model number now but it was listed as their brightest light and had good reviews. They are much brighter and whiter than stock. I also have that 'special' Toshiba bulb that is no longer made in the hi's. Light is similar temp to stock but brighter.

If I'm not mistaken, JW's ACA HID kit comes with the Hi-4 harness already built in, so no need to separately order it.
My HIDs (low beams) throw so much focused light that I find my high beams don't add anything...the high beams' light isn't as "white" and it is more diffused, scattering light to the left (into oncoming traffic). And the HID low beams throw light MUCH further down the road than the high beams do.
For those reasons, I don't ever use my high beams. MY HID low beams are so good that the high beams are essentially useless.

The Radioflyer headlights come with the Hi-4 harness with his kit. I have them on my car now. They are great!

I went with The Radio Flyers Bi-Xeon ACA light kits and harness. One of the best mods I have done. I can actually see the road
I also went with Radio Flyers kit and had him add the Krell LED bulb for my high beams and wow what a great setup !!! I drive a lot at nite and am Very Happy !!

I don't drive a lot at night, so I really have never been bothered by the lousy headlights.
But please help me with the nomenclature... I see ACA, JW, Radioflyer... modified ACA housings, Bi-xenon... etc.
I see some people are finding them for $300, and Radioflyer's kit is $650.
What is what? I don't want to cut corners. I'm a good shadetree mechanic, but I don't want to go cutting everything up to get something to work and find it doesn't fit right. I also want to do this ONCE and be done. I don't want too much electrical load/draw on my 12yr old factory wiring harnesses... to me that = fire hazard.
