Go get a can of plasti dip and coat the mdf real good before mounting and it won't be a problem. I'm putting 3 way components in my doors and plan to do the same thing. As long as it's covered good everywhere, it will block any moisture. I tested it on a piece of 3/4" mdf last winter. Tossed it on my lawn during the winter for over a month during the rainy season. It never swelled like mdf always does.
Hey Stealth02, I'm interested. Are the speaker and mounting holes pre-cut?
Yes. All the mounting holes are pre drilled and countersunk. Hole is cut for 6.5" speaker. Just use a screw gun for the speaker to adapter screws. I didn't drill them because of different speaker hole patterns. You can mount the tweeter how ever you like. This plastic is very durable. Its industrial grade poly. Pm me if you want them.
Speaker adapters heading your way. Post some pics of your progress. The audio install isn't bad. Just time consuming. I had two vettes with both interiors completely removed to run all of my wiring. Are you incorporating a backup camera? Best to put one in now if you are. I mounted front and rear cameras on both cars and tied them into a relay system I made. Modified a three position ride select switch to turn whatever camera on I want. On demand camera even when going driving down the road to view traffic coming up from behind. Kept it all factory looking.

I've been updating the 2nd post with progress. Added a bunch of amp box pics last night.
Thanks for getting those plates out. I'll let you know when they arrive. Not doing the camera. Thought about it, but opted against. That's a clever way to do it though.
Looking good.I have the same set up in both cars. I mounted the amp behind the passenger seat. Had to use 3M sealant to adhere board to waterfall. Liquid nails didn't cut it. Should sound good once you get your gains dailed in.

Did you mount to the back of waterfall itself or the floor directly aft of the waterfall? This one is going on the floor.
I mounted directly to the waterfall. Put my board under carpet. I may redo mine. Just wanted it out of the way. I can get to all the adjusments by tilting passenger seat forward.
I've had Borla Stingers, Corsa Touring and Xtreme's, Stock TI's, BB's, and Magnaflows. The only one that didn't do the infamous DRONE at 1500rpm were the Corsa Touring's.
The car came with stingers on it and were great until I installed long tubes, then the drone started.
Yeah, I'm updating the 2nd post with progress of the sound system install. Saturday is the big day. Head Unit is on the way. I will be here tomorrow. Window tint is scheduled for this afternoon. I'll get pics up when that's one.
Stealth's poly-plastic speaker plates came today. Definitely an improvement over the MDF. I won't be worried about them at all.
