Some very nice tasteful mods you have done! Nice progress being made.
You are very methodical about your wood work, it looks very nice. I hope my amp install turns out as good looking as yours.
Thanks. I built a furniture grade wall unit last summer. First time ever taking on a project of that magnitude. I had to get a lot of tools to complete that job, but they sure are coming in handy now. Wood is actually pretty forgiving material. I've really just learned to focus on square and plumb--the rest comes together well after that.
Hopefully you'll share some pics of your project. I really had no idea what I was going to do when I started, I just knew I didn't want the amp behind the seat and I wanted ALL wires concealed. Concealment was one of the objectives of my wall unit project too. I have a full home theater setup with wall mounted flatscreen and you can't see any wires. I HATE visible wires.
After looking through the whole thread again, wow you certainly have given new definition to the "bender."
For other observations are:
-We have similar tastes
-Your car is going to be very bad ***
-You are a heck of a lot more capable than me in doing your own work and I am severely understating that - - - nice job!
-Your toes are as jacked up as mine - lol

Thanks. This type of work isn't particularly hard. There were a couple of challenges along the way like splicing into switched 12v source upside down on and back in the passenger footwell. Also getting the amp power through the firewall took some time. Overall though this is just a big jigsaw puzzle.

Wait, I'm just getting started
Unfortunately, the wheels I selected aren't available until April, so I've decided to put those on hold until I wear out the run flats. If they're not dead by April I'll power-brake them off.
I've also contacted a local performance shop to discuss a long tube header/x-pipe install but I think I'm going to wait on that until I'm ready for FI.
Blendmount and Mirrortap installed. Took about 30 minutes. The molex connector on the back as two dark wires on one side and two orange wires on the other. Use black for ground and brown for hot. Brown is switched power.
GHL Bullets installed tonight. I added a couple of pics at the bottom of post #3.
Piping for amp beauty cover is supposedly sitting in my mailbox. I'll get it tomorrow and see about wrapping that up.
Since my wheels aren't available until April, I think the next thing to do is decide which Radioflyer HIDs to install. I'm also going to do a little work with my CCF and the door panels. Something is buzzing when the bass hits and that's just got to go.
How are you liking the single 10? I'm thinking of fiberglassing the side cubbies/corners and running two 8"s. I have a coupe so that back area is already a bass chamber!!! I can also fit two 10"s in the corners and my targa will still fit. I have a pair of really nice 10s already but not sure which I will go with.
I'm good with it. When I setup the amp I added 2db of bass boost and drove around like that for a day, then turned it back down. The sub hits hard enough for me. I was aiming for tonal quality more than anything else and this system delivers. Honestly, I don't know what I'd do with more bass if I had it
Finally got around to dialing the amp in last night. Yes--I set the gains to a very safe level prior to tuning.
Here's what I did:
Front 6.5s 60wRMS 4ohm, 55hz
Rear 5.25s 40wRMS 4ohm, 75hz
Sub 10" 300wRMS, Dual 2ohm
Kenwood 700/5 40wRMS A/B, 300wRMS Sub
Since the Amp had the lower RMS level than speakers on A/B, I used it for the peak voltage calc.
A/B SqRt of 40x4 = 12.649
Sub SqRt of 300x2 = 24.49
LPF for sub = 80hz (set on amp and deck)
HPF for fronts = 60hz (set via deck, turned HPF off on amp)
HPF for rears = 80hz (set via deck, turned HPF off on amp)
Volume Scale = 35. Set to 31 (90%). 50hz 0db test tone for sub, 1000hz 0db test tone for A/B. Set AC voltage on DMM and turned gain to 12.5@peak for A/B and 24.0 for Sub with crossovers/eq/sub boost all set to off/flat/0.
Any glaring issues here? It sounds pretty damn good.
Redline Steering Wheel Cover is ordered. I got my hands on a loaner wheel and cut the old cover off. Added a few pics to post #3. Can't really do more with it until the cover arrives.
This is the pic on the Redline website that caught my attention. I'll be using sierra colored thread with a baseball stitch. Otherwise, this is the look I'm going for.
I'm also scheduled to have the front bumper painted on Monday. The rest of the paint is 100% serviceable but the prior owner was not kind to the front bumper. It's scratched on the corners quite a bit. It also has a fair bit of road damage/rock chips. I'll do some before and after pics.
Still waiting on my bezel. Monday marks 3 weeks. Dennis says 4-5 weeks on average. Also waiting on word from Dennis that he has the Cray Brickyards. I've been very patiently waiting for those to show up
