We'll the 2004 could use some new rubber. Only 24,000 on the originals but ride is getting hard and loud. What is being used now days for replacement of the run flats? Want real life old fashioned tires without run flats. Thanks people.
You will get lots of opinions, but I'll say Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3s if you want the very best, or Hankook Ventus V12s if you want to be a little more budget minded. Both are great tires, and both run quiet. The Michelins are probably the pinnacle of quality, the Hankooks probably the best value out there.
Here is another vote for the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S. They are quiet, smooth, and perform well under a wide range of conditions. They have a great mileage rating, so much that I will probably end up replacing them due to age rather than wear.
BUT, be warned that they look narrow, compared to many others. Although the cross section dimensions are about the same as the factory original Goodyears, I was disappointed to lose some of that noticeable macho wide tire appearance.
After all the discussions, recommendations, reviews and comments, I am buying the Firestone Firehawks next month. I will be using them for everyday driving and long cruises.
I like my Bridgestone RE760Es. Much more reasonably priced than many. Set of four for under $800. The Michelins are the pinnacle of performance and are all season tires if money is no object. For me, it was.
The Bridgestones have been flawless for me. Nice ride, good traction, and I have been using them for winter driving and even though they are not all season rated, they have been great.
only one real choice if you don't want two sets of wheels and tires, which by the way would give you MUCH better traction in all conditions. winter tires on some wagon wheels and re11s on your summer wheels
but
if you have to have just one set the michelin as3 is it

My car had the Eagle F1 runflats when I bought the car. Hated them. Bought a set of Falken non run flats and loved them. Not long after installing the Falkens I bought a set of C6Z06 wheels in C5 sizes from a friend. They were wrapped in Nitto 555 R tires. Wheels and tires only had 1500 miles on the set. I got about 35K out of the Nittos but never liked them. Kept the Falken tires in the garage the whole time and installed them when the Nitto's got thin. I LOVE THESE TIRES WITH my set up!
C6 Z06 Shocks, Z51 C5, Metal End Links,,,etc.
6K since the swap, I love these tires!

Michelin AS3 are great all seasons for warm/wet/cold, I just wouldn't take them in actual snow/ice situations. Cold dry roads they'll be good though.
agreed. i tried these tires on a subie awhile back in the snow. even with 4wd they don't have that much snow traction. i was able to get around in 3-4" alright but a real snow tire even on a 2wd car would kill them when it comes to traction

I'm one of the first around here to run the Falkens. I paid just over $500. for the set. $300. for the rear, $200. for the front. I chose them for wear rating and tread design. A lot of tires for these cars look like they belong on grandmas Buick and not on a sports car

Tires are a safety item, and at what price is safety worth. Bought mine at America's Tire (Discount Tire) in other parts of the country. Set of 4 for $1000. Non run flats.
Replaced my GY runflats about a year ago with BFGoodrich g-Force T/A KDW 2s. I don't ever drive in the wet or cold, so they suit me just fine. Very aggressive tread pattern. Around $850 from Tire Rack.
