This guy speaks the truth. RX65 is a great detector that stacks up well against a lot of big dollar units. It uses an S7 antenna. The only issue is they are getting hard to find. Sometimes you can find them if you call beltronics and ask if they have them refurbed. Also, the older escort 8500 was a great detector as well as long as you get one with an s7 antenna. Beltronics and escort are the same company FYI.

It's a great set up for those that can't spend $500 on a unit.
Worth looking at.

Check out this site:
http://radar-detectors-review.toptenreviews.com/ (2014)

Sold my Escort 9500ix and bought Whistler's CR90 (GPS) great value for the money, together
with the CR85 (Same as CR90 but without GPS) represents the best value/performance on radar detector reviews.
Needed 2 detectors and selling the Escort paid for 2 very good alternatives.

In 2014 the Whistler XTR-695SE which ranked #2 in 2013 is superseded by the CR85.

Top end Escorts are arguably the best detectors but some mid priced RD's come very close in performance at a fraction of the cost.

I did a lot of research a couple of years back, Valentine was my choice. It is a detector not a jammer. Has worked for me, so far no tics.

I roll with Maxx_Z06! Other detectors have great features but the V1 gives incredible warnings and tells you where the threat is side, front or behind. I have had a seven mile warning from my V1.

Default Radar Detectors

I just installed Whistler 3600 remote detector works great mounted it in next to driver side fog light and have inside where the ashtray is , put the cover down and no one knows its there. Only thing the lasar is a bit sensitive, I need to adjust it as it goes off alot. Got is for $210.00worth every penny.

nj..been there done that and never ever will again, sorry but one of the worst states I have ever been in and to make it worse you have crispy cream. Proud, native Texan and don't care if you like it or not...to each his own, love where you call home.

V1 or Escort. Pricey but you really do get your monies worth. Think of it this way; if it saves you from one ticket. - the cost of the ticket plus insurance markup money saved pays for the unit itself.

Well I guess I need to start researching the v1 and escort. price isn't the big deal I just need help avoiding tickets and yes a couple of times when I had my last radar dectector it paid for itself saving me multiple times.

Thanks all for your valuable input.

I use an Escort Redline.

Per Escort, "Our team of engineers created the most sensitive radar/laser detector period. RedLine provides the longest range for every signal out there."
