Lots of us use this location for various modifications that require switches. That location is where I placed two switches for seat heaters.
The easy way to check if it is a mod is to pop the panel off - it takes only slight upward pressure and look from below. IF the switch is drilled through other components in that location, it is definitely an add on.
I popped off the panel and the switch is just drilled through the panel. It just has a red and black wire. It's hard to tell if this was added on or not.
Thanks
It looks like factory not added on. It is a round rocker switch.
Thanks
If it's a round rocker switch, it's not factory. The only factory switches on the console are the Active Handling Button (closer to the driver) and the Selective Ride Control Switch (closer to the passenger, which not everyone will have, only those with that option). Neither are rocker switches. Yours is an aftermarket switch. For what, you'll need to determine.

the thing on the back left--almost under the console cover?
Compare it to the photo on up the string - - whatever it is- it's not from the factory.
Maybe some kind of kill switch for an alarm ? I think you're going to need to eamine if anything got plugged into the fuse panel - - -or trace the wires . . but that's absolutely not OEM.
That's not a factory switch. What's weird is that's where the Passenger Air Bag Off Light would normally be (and the label for the light isn't there either). At any rate, a previous owner installed that on/off switch, so you'll need to determine what it's for, as none of us can give you a definitive answer. Good luck in your search.
Edit: BTW, that other (what appears to be red) switch in the finger recess to the console lid is not factory either. Have you determined what that's for?

I still think it's had some sort of boost added in the past. Another possibility, you didn't say whether it's a convertible or not, but if it is it could disable the power antenna so you have the option to have it up or down with the radio on. You're not going to get the answer on the forum as to what it is unless whoever put it on there reads this and responds. You need to do some detective work.

Thanks to Everyone for all the insight. Once I figure it out, I'll post what I find.
The little red toggle switch operates the back up camera.
Thanks again...
That's just an after market Toggle switch! I actually have the same one! Mine is used to bypass the DvD so I can play Videos/Movies while the car is moving. So there are 100 different reasons what yours was installed for. Good luck tracking it down. Easy thing to do is flip it back & forth & See what changes. Some cars use them for L.E.D lights, Stereo, Bypass something or manually use to turn off & on things like the motor Antenna. No one knows but Previous owner & Now you will lol.....
