Thanks everyone, I haven't done anything else yet but everything has been painted and cured. I was going to spray it all with Clear but my buddy who does paint and body work is taking everything to his shop to shoot with automotive clear with hardener. Cant complain about that. Not going to get that kind of durability with a aerosol... For those asking about the alternator. I didn't have plans to go through it like I did with the TB. But I am going to clean it up very nice. I may take my air bridge and give it a custom carbon fiber paint job with spray paint and clear it. Im fairly confident I can make it look like real carbon fiber with aerosol cans ....

I've gotten more interested in this, but have a few questions. I'm "new" to this type of engine with individual coil packs, fuel rails and the associated brackets. From the OP's pix, it seems like its all bolt/unbolt, plug and play? I wouldn't mind doing away with the FRC's, and there seems to be some aftermarket alternatives to the valve covers? I have an LS6 -are my stock valve covers aluminum or stamped steel?
I see that the coil packs seem to be completely painted. Is that correct?
Thanks!

Yes this is all just bolted on, The coil packs are fasten to the brackets and the brackets to the valve covers. Everything is plugged, I didn't cut any wires. I personally will be getting into the wiring to move things around but Im really not elaborating on that here. Yes there is alternatives to the factory valve covers. But I personally didn't feel like spending the money for them, Not to mention that unless you are doing coil pack relocation its not justified to spend the money. Also yes, the valve covers are aluminum and yes I completely painted my coil packs... Hope this clears some things up for you

Thanks a million. I think i will undertake this in the near future. I may replace the plug wires with a more interesting color than what I have.

krusin, how, what size, and what are the mounting points for the FRC's you made? I have some stainless that might fit the bill.

I do too, after assessing mine I got concerned about the extra work to keep it clean. I also found Holley valve covers on Jegs that eliminate the brackets. I'd appreciate any encouragement.
Btw, I assume one replaces the valve cover gaskets...

Yea im replacing both gaskets and all the grommets. Also, keep in mind the Holly valve covers are very nice and will work on every LSX motor fitment wise. But, the problem is that if you have ls2/ls6 oil packs you will only be able to use one mounting hole on the valve cover and it looks goofy imo. They are ment to use ls2/ls3/ls7 coil packs...

So which one is is? LS2/LS6 is one mounting hole, or is LS2 on the list of those meant for those covers?

It not clear on the Jegs site, and it doesn't go into detail regarding which LS engine it fits. I have an LS-6. From the pic online, the packs are mounted on an angle, but 2 screws are used.

Is the ANYWHERE that shows the difference between the ls6 and ls1 packs?! I've been all over the web and can find nothing.

Thanks for clarifying. I was hoping it was the other way around, but there's still one option in Carr's covers that don't require a bracket relocation and work with an LS1/LS6.
