The power antenna on convertibles had a switch in the center console? Or was this added by the PO? Since my wife got her dream car(2000 Vert) earlier this week we have been out in it daily...and all of a sudden when we went out yesterday, the antenna did not pop up when the radio came on. I read the manual, pulled the fuse, jiggled the wires, looked at it through tail light and nothing helped. That is, until I remembered playing with a switch in the center console that I had no idea what it was because the radio wasn't on when I was flipping it on and off. Well my last flip must have been to the off position...feeling dumb and relieved at the same time.

It was added. Did the same with mine. Nice, simple mod.

The PO added the switch.

Thanks! I feel better...I read the manual and found nothing. Must be because you don't need it with XM on I guess.

Great mod done by PO. The factory vert power antenna stays up when the stereo is turned on, even if you're just using the CD player (or at least mine did).

And, if you live in an urban area, you probably get decent reception with the antenna down anyway.

If you have XM, they added that too.

Since the only radio I listen to is XM, I unplugged the power cable to the antenna. I'd rather have the option to have it up or down. Might consider doing this.

It was such a nice and subtle install I did not notice it at first. When I found it, I started fiddling with it to see what would happen...nothing, I thought, until antenna did not come up and I did not realize what the problem was for 2 days.

I also added a hidden switch in the same exact area. Except it's for my RF modulator that's connected inline between the antenna and radio. I use it for my MP3 player or Iphone through my factory radio.
