Default Upgrading lights

I want info on upgrading fog and low beam and reverse lights .... What's the best way to upgrade using stock light housing?
Do HIDs get to hot for stock light housings?

I went with digital hid kits. A lot of the guys on here insist the light pattern is no good. I really like the light output and have never been flashed for being too bright. Sure I would like the projector housings but the stock ones work fine and have not given me a single problem but I am sure someone is about to tell me I don't know what I am talking about.

I am working on the same thing right now. Have not decided exactly what to get just yet.

I'm considering LED's for the fog lamps. There are some wildly bright Plasma and Cree LED fog lamp bulbs out there. You won't get HID power from the LED's but the color is nice and brighter than any halogen bulb.

For the reverse lamps, there is some new lens focused 5w Cree based LEDs. Hugely brighter than any halogen and even much brighter than the early SMD based LEDs

depends on your answer: do you
A already have a C5, or
B just considering a purchase?

If your answer is B: buy a C6 instead.
If your answer is A: good luck separating ACTUAL FACTS from personal opinions.
Now that I think about it, while being of absolutely no help in answering your original question, I'll just say "good luck separating ACTUAL FACTS from personal opinions."
( the preceding is entirely my opinion)

Low beam upgrade - Any "bulb replacement" for the factory headlights will only provide a moderate improvement in visibility. Even HID bulbs producing 2-3 times the light output will still only shine light on the same place (almost directly in front of the car on the ground) and the additional glare will hamper your long-distance vision.

For a significant upgrade in headlight, we offer Projector based HID lighting with Bi-xenon (A projector that functions as low and high beam) optics. Both styles shown here will not only increase the intensity of light output with HID light source, but the projector will also spread out the light to cover nearly 10x the area as the factory reflector housing.

Factory low:

Our more exotic looking fixed model:

Fog lights: - Unlike your headlights, the C5 fog lights are perfectly suitable for a simple HID retrofit. The projector housing provides excellent optics for focusing the HID pattern. You can purchase our HID fog light kit here:

Reverse lights - The Reverse lights are an area where an upgrade to the bulb will provide significant output, but an upgrade to the housing as well will provide an even better output. Our Adjure Reverse light housing with our Cree 80w LED bulbs provide nearly as much output (1600 lumens) as your factory headlights

Let me know if you have any questions.

If you want brighter lights, just put HIDs in stock housing.......
If you want BETTER lights, put HIDs in projector housing.
I tried both, and after going with projectors I would NEVER go back to stock housings.

Default Cheap and easy upgrade to fog lights is 50 w 885 bulbs

Replaced the 37 W fog lights with 50 W 885 lamps and can almost drive with no headlights. Run them with low beam Silverstars all the time.
Do not melt the housings and provide a lot more light.
