I went with all of the basic items first, I had a few issues to address first (small transmission fluid leak, clutch with over 100,000 miles on it) My FRC came with a Borla Stinger exhaust (I would have rather had a quad tip Corsa but not enough to spend $1000 for it) So I installed a Vararam Intake, LS6 Intake Manifold, Lingenfelter GT2-3 Cam, LG Longtube Headers no cats, Centerforce Dual Friction clutch with billet steel flywheel, MGW Shifter, upgraded my springs and threw in hardened pushrods. Whenever you get everything installed please remember to get a pin kit installed. I did not and had my harmonic balancer tear itself apart a month after I had everything installed. I went ahead and purchased an ATi replacement and had it pinned. I think most people are gonna say the quickest route for the horsepower you want is a supercharger but I went the NA route which set me up to add a supercharger in the future if I want. If that is in your future I would spend the extra cast and buy the Fast intake manifold instead of LS6. I'm also gonna keep an eye out for some used LS6 heads to get ported and polished for my car. Good luck with whatever route you take, just be prepared to drop some cash for quality parts. The guys on this forum(not including myself) are geniuses when it comes to Corvette. Mr. Bill seems to be able to help with ANYTHING electrical, Dennis from DoubleD is an audio guru and I'm sure i am leaving off a ton of experts.
My '02 has a Vortec V-2 supercharger that has 7 psi boost. 42 lb injectors, water-cooled intercooler, Corsa Indy Pace Car with x-pipe. The system came with a SuperChips tune. Power is just under 450 RWHP and 405 ft-lbs torque. I wold think that a good tuner could get even more power out of the engine with a little work. Add a cam, heads, intake and I would think that 500 HP at the rear would be doable.
The car is very streetable as it uses the factory cam and valvetrain with the stock bottom end. Idles at 750 RPM and is smooth. And it will deliver an honest 30MPG on the freeway (manual calculation, not the computer readout)!

Na no cam and heads etc....All you need is 60 lb injectors, a smaller pulley I guess you have a 3.6 right now and I guess you have more
than a stock fuel pump--if not get one. And you have more than 500rwhp with a tune. Easy..............
I have 504 RWHP, on a stock LS1. Andy at A&A gave me a very mild tune on my SuperCharger (as I requested) and there is more there, if I want it. I don't.
This car is street mild, and becomes 'a hand full' when you floor it. Can't imagine why I'd ever want more. I'm not going to the track. If I wanted anything more, it'd be bigger tires, for more traction.....

What is the best route to 450 whp on a c5 ls1 vette? Your thoughts...
If you want to keep it...build the block or replace it...just for a quick run, shoot a hundred shot of nitrous into her...that will do the job...oh and call a tow-truck right before you do it...
