Well I surprised my wife with two one way plane tickets to Alabama! She asked me what are these for? Well, you see I bought a Z06 and uhh we have to go get it and drive it home ummm tomorrow! Mind you my Camaro SS wasn't sold yet.

I have never hid mods on my Harley's or now my vette. I explain the safety issues of why we need to do these things. Safety is a great persuader. Glad she doesn't read any of the magazines laying around the house or God forbid this forum. I really don't think she buys the safety BS but enjoys seeing what I will come up with next.

I did the same thing a few years ago when I bought an airplane in Maine. She was not happy about going to Maine in January, but she loved the airplane.

That's awesome, I do that as well. "Not only is it safer, but look at the deal I scored on it!"

Never really concealed much myself, but then I'm one of the few not-married guys on here apparently.

In my situation, I told the gf I was getting rid of the Cobra to get something cheaper. Through the whole process, she was out of town but texting me about "I know you love your car but it's the right thing to do" and "I'm glad you're being responsible." Then she comes back, sees the Vette, and I get "Since when are Corvettes cheaper than Mustangs?"

I just said "It's not new...it's old. So it was cheap."

1973, "Wife" is pregnant, "You're using the '59 Vette to pick up pretty girls because I'm all FAT and ugly." .... "Honest, baby, you're wrong."...
"The car or me."... I was young and in love, got rid of the car....
She later divorced me...... This many years later..... SHE'S DEAD!!!
I've still got a Vette.... I WIN!

"SHE DOESN'T KNOW"

Every car is expensive. Your car just looks more exotic than others. It's used and you will be at the airport crowded with more expensive cars. Point out a couple of fancy SUV's and get mom up to date on car pricing.

Mom will be proud.

And yes I have had failures in communications. I used to actively collect Vinyl records, they were easy to hide in a 12 foot stack.

They dont come cheap here and pretty much every mod needs to be imported..Id say 60k has gone into this car thus far.

Anyway...When she next flys into my city I'll pick her up in it and see what she says ( headers, offroadpipe, Xtreme )..

If she starts bleating I'll just drown her out with the sweet sweet sound of my car lol

Have you hidden your car or mods from anyone?

And just what would she think of your avatar? SHAME SHAME ……

BTW any time someone makes a statement saying they are not something and then immediately follows it with "….but" and an explanation well…. i don't know man hehe

I dated a girl once and the first thing she said to me on our first date was "seriously I'm really not a physco…..but" That girl was outta her mind of course that just made her more intriguing and I was still interested for a few more dates anyway LOL

Last summer I got the vette, and she got a new kitchen and living room, we enjoy both together.

Just tell her you were planning on a big inheritance at some point and figured you'd go ahead and spend a little of it now so technically she bought the car for you
