Well I've got my first problem with my 10 year old Corvette. An interior trim piece behind the driver's door handle has popped out. I could not find it. Must have happened somewhere I was out. I've included a pic. I went to GM's part site, and if I correctly identified the part (their diagram is not the greatest) it's the one piece that is no longer available. Any suggestions on where I might find this part? Of course being on the driver's door it bugs me every time I get in and out. I believe it's part # 7, but it's hard to tell.
They're available at Chevy dealers for less than 5 bucks. I just bought two a couple of weeks ago. The shale ones for the anniversary and commemorative editions are around 13 bucks. It's called a door panel plug.
I'd say it's a decent statement on GM's quality when this the only problem a 10 year old, modestly tracked car has had. I did have the steering lock column message but that was my own fault for letting the battery run down. In my case completely disconnecting the battery resolved it.
