[Z06] C5 vs C7
Here is the dyno numbers with a small 234/240 .598 .608 112 LSA cam, 1 3/4 x 2.5 headers, Stock heads, Stock intake, Stock CAI through a RPM Stage 6 4L65E with 3200 Stall... 535/529

I then forged the motor, Pistons, Rods, Crank and tossed on some decked P&P LS3 heads to bring my CR up, Stock LS3 intake and swapped out the cam to G7XX Cam and had it tuned with 1 3/4 x 2.5 exhaust with cats and stock CAI. Car made 588/556...
I need to get it back on the rollers for a retune since I went from 1 3/4 x 2.5 exhaust with cats and stock CAI to 1 7/8 x 3 with no cats and Halltech CAI... Car should make 600/570ish now....

Was supposed to go meet up with my buddy to do a couple pulls against his Alpha 7 GTR tonight but im getting tired and I have a weird feeling something bad could happen tonight LEO wise... Just one of those sketchy feelings. Next time... I want to see how we do against eachother...

I'm hurting on tq because I'm running a baby cam.. Stock intake and cats. After years of running a foul smelling car i needed a change.
This winter I'm planning on getting a bigger cam and doing something with the intake.
Looking to pick up 40hp/40tq... Theres just so much left on the table with this engine that im not taking advantage of.

Nice combo!
I haven't taken either car to the drag strip or anything like that though I do track and autocross, so it's hard to tell on the street. It's difficult to gauge speed because the c5 feels more raw, it's rougher, and it's louder. The c7 on the other hand is much more refined, smoother, and comfier (even though there's less space inside). The speed comes so smoothly that it doesn't feel like you're going that fast even though you do feel the sudden acceleration.
In terms of handling, the c7 seems much more settled near the limit and the feeling of the inputs (steering and throttle) are lighter and require less effort so it gives the overall impression that it's easier to drive than the c5. Even though the car is heavier (but shorter I think), it doesn't feel heavy. There's also automatic revmatch which works pretty well and would be handy instead of heel toeing at the track. The c7 also seems to have less body roll and the sensation of the car unsettling during transitions is less compared to the c5.
This is probably similar to some degree to the c5 vs c6 debate but I will say that the c7 is a "better" or more convenient car for daily driving but I still miss the sounds and raw feeling of the c5 even if it's slower. I drove the cars back to back last night (as did my girlfriend) and stepping back into the c5 felt like coming back home. Maybe my perception of things will change next week after I've had the c7 for a bit longer

It solved my problem.
My car sees 160+ mph a few times each year.
Notice that the C7 doesnt have a center piece either... Its evident on both of the pictures I posted initially... interesting.
