I owned an 87 convertible with the 4+3 manual transmission. Wanted a manual and that was all that was available. That transmission was a piece of crap versus the buttery smooth 4 speed manual I had in my 79 L82. Thank god I was much younger then. It was a chore getting in an out of my 87. Can't imagine having to do it now. The seats were ok but I think the sports seats in my C5 are much more comfortable. Yes there were improvements starting with the 90's model but I was never interested in another C4.

I think the C5 is the best looking Corvette ever. So does one of my buddies, and he's had many Vettes over the years. He still has the 61 he bought when he got out of the army in 66. He's even thought about selling the 61, after buying his 03 AE vert a few months ago. I never liked the C2 at all. I liked the very early and the last 2 years of the C3. C4s didn't do it for me either, didn't like the dash at all. I'll never own a C6 and probably won't live long enough to try a C7. I'll never wear out my old 99, heck it's only got 140,000 on the clock now.

C3 68 to 72 > C3 80 to 82> C5 > C6 Last would be C4 followed by C7.

C2, nothing else is even close, '67 L88 being the pinnacle. Here's a 3.2 mil. L88

not been on forum in some time. good to be back.. Zora Duntov was ask once. What was HIS favorite Corvette, he replied " the next one" Good answer.. But this is a C5 Forum. I have owned many vettes since 1980.. WITHOUT doubt I simply love C5's..

Keep in Mind C5 has styling hues from EVERY Thing C1; C2; C3 and yea C4. C5 just screams Sports Car!!

So-- My Vote -- C5 ... twenty yrs from now.. This Generation will not be dated ...

I wanted to buy a c4, but found a c5 instead, glad I went with the c5, love the c2, my bosses business partner showed up with a Callaway c7 convertible today, and as nice as it is, I am happy with my c5!

My first Vette was a '57 which I thought was absolutely beautiful. Although I do love my C5, my favorite of all time is the 1954 six banger. My next Vette will be a C7.

.....and yep, I'm an old man!

The C5 generation is my favorite...and will probably always be.

I like every generation. If I had to pick a favorite year from each, they would be the '59, '67, '69, '96, '13 and '15. The C7 is second.

Chrome bumper C3 with Big block (or LT1) hood. Oh wait, I just happen to have one here.

But why am I lurking on the C5 forum? I'm starting to think about them in "that" way.

C2 gets my vote for best looking. Followed closely by the C5 FRCs, 1991-95 ZR-1, C6 Z06 and 1996 GS coupes.

C5 & C6 are my favorites, then C7 then C3 then C2. I wouldn't even want a C4 or C1....
