Or their machine is out of calibration. A sensor could have slipped out of place on the wheel. Or the guy has a vision problem?
All possible, but the fact that they put it back on the rack and pointed to the track arrow in an attempt to vindicate themselves shows a severe misunderstanding of how alignments work. I mean I could make a car track dead ahead with the steering wheel 180° out if I really wanted to.
Keep taking it back until it is correct. Does not matter what the computer screen shows, it should be perfect on the road or they did not do it correctly.
I agree!!! My alignment shop said, after alignment, to drive it for a day, and if it did not seem perfect, including steering wheel alignment, to bring it back. It would be a simple adjustment for them to put it where I wanted it.
Take yours back, or get a different shop who knows what they are doing.
Whoever did your alignment is a moron. Even if the track is set correctly, it doesn't mean your steering wheel is aligned. They most likely performed toe adjustments without centering and securing the steering wheel first.

Don
Remember, this was a dealership and I had a service coupon. That was MY mistake.
I brought it to another shop back when I originally lowered the car and installed my first set of aftermarket wheels and non run-flats and the car drove fine. Since this dealership is over 30 miles away, I will go back to the original shop that performed the original alignment service correctly after I complete my brake upgrade project.
The dealership repositioned the steering wheel and it's not as bad as what it was, however after three attempts, I have no faith they got it right. Since I basically ended up paying for only the oil change, lesson learned and I will never step foot in their service department again.

and i agree there. the biggest mistake the tech made was by not driving it afterwards. just because the machine says it's straight doesn't mean it was, if the machine is out of calibration.

that's what this thread sounds like to me. steering wasn't centered
because a car driving straight means nothing, absolutely nothing, if a car doesn't drive straight the alignment is beyond f'lked
i've had cars that were really off, like 1/4" off and they drove straight
Decided to put some wider tires on the rear and recheck the alignment. This is what it should look like with a straight steering wheel. As a good friend of mine says. That's money right there.
All dead on factory specs with about 0.30 higher caster on the right.

Bring your car over to Orlando and let mrr23 align it. He did my coupe and my trip to work got shorter. I never realized how much the car wondered around until Robert worked his magic.

I will probably do that. I'm working on a brake upgrade next and after I finish that, I will take an Orlando day trip (stop in for some Chicago pizza at Giordano's) and get the alignment performed correctly!
Thanks. I will reach out when ready. Another "coincidence" is that I have a hyper flash with my passenger turn signal ever since their alignment attempt. I wonder if they knocked my hyper flash harness when working on the alignment underneath the knee bolster. Might be completely unrelated.
