My HUD on '03 Anniversary quite. All fuses are good, the display adjustment motor works, but no lighting. Is there a bulb in this system that burns out? Thanks for any knowledge one might have.
When you say the "motor works", can you actually see the mirror moving or just hear it? Look down into the HUD from outside the car with the engine running and see if the display is visible: it may be the (relatively common) broken-mirror-mount problem.
If there's really no display, you'll probably have to replace the whole thing, as it's an electroluminescent display, not a projector...no bulbs.
Either way, trivial to fix, PITA to get in and out of the dash.

I can provide you with great how to guidance on how to remove the dash pad when I get home. Not really hard to do as many novices have done it. Much simpler than most cars so GM did us a favor. Please remind if I don't post.

I have the guidance for dash removal and HUD replacement. Thanks so much for your courteous offer.
Just repaired mine this past weekend. My mirror pivoted smoothly but had fallen down due to broken mount tab.
Wasn't that bad to do, hardest part for me was adjusting the mirror on the gear to get it centered in the windshield.
If you you lean way up forward in the seat is how I could see mine still projecting.
Because it's happened before, I'll mention it. The slider switch on the right must be slid up to turn the brightness up. Is it up already?
Wondering if the slider switch could be faulty. Thinking the problem is what Lee DeRaud has suggested (loss of electroluminescense). Mirror is level and moves in a parallel plan
Follow-up for contributors. Finally got the HUD fixed this week. After determining that it was a loss of electroluminescent lighting, purchased a used unit and all is good!
