Door hinge question

I was cleaning my door on my 02 C5 - getting all the grime out of the cracks, etc - when I went over the top hinge and then heard something fall off. I knocked it off with my towel and it isnt very big or heavy...seem like it was on top of the hinge. I looked on the ground and found and stuck my hand in the side vent but couldnt find anything. Not worried, just curious as to what it was. Thoughts????

My kid was doing the other door and same thing happened at about the same time....maybe a plastic cover...????

Are the vents missing from the A-pillar? There isn't much else there that could fall off except window trim.
