dennis has detailed instructions on how to install the new bezel and the radio.
If you have half a brain and basic (very basic) set of tools, you'll have no problem doing this.
I went with a black-leather covered bezel from dennis -- looks fantastic, like the car came stock with the bezel.
just keep in mind that in addition to having a funky radio size, the bose system in corvettes have amps at the speaker. So you can't just wire in a new head unit -- you'll need an adapter if you're going to keep the stock speakers, which dennis also sells (I went this route .. dropped in the head unit and the bezel, kept the stock speakers, figured I'd upgrade them down the road, just never got around to it. )
Got this from Dennis two years ago after he modified my bezel to double din.
Dennis is offering a package deal right now which is the latest and greatest Kenwood unit with everything you need, just take out the old unit and put in the new one.. Dennis is always there to hold your hand if necessary. All plug and play.
I got my system from DD Mods, THE place to go to for your stereo solutions. They also provided the leather covered console, modified for this Alpine HU. I did this install a few years ago, so there may be newer options available. Give Dennis a call and he can tell you what's the sizzle.

I see in the pic above an Alpine unit but since the name of this old thread was originally "what's new" I'll put my 2 cents in-
The newest of the new is the Kenwood DMX7704s. It's so new that Dennis just got them in stock last week!
I'm still waiting for mine to ship along with the whole DD mods treatment for the car so I'll report back but it is almost a 7" screen and what appears to be one of the better, responsive touch screens out there.
Dual cameras- rear and front and will also work with Kenwoods new dash recorder.
Note- there is no CD/DVD player in the unit. It's all digital. i.e. iPhone/iPod, android, usb stick, etc.
It does apple carplay and android's version.
Here's a good review from Crutchfield (but call Dennis at DD mods)
I was just looking at that on their site! I read that apparently it can even read car info and do climate control? Would be wicked if it could do climate control.
Getting rid of the old school look and something totally modern and large screened would be what I'd want. Don't care for ashtray. Don't care for dvd/cd. Just my android, radio, etc...
FYI: just because the stereo will interface with the car functions doesn't mean our cars will. These functions are used with an in-between unit called iDatalink Maestro. This allows the radio to interface with the car to varying degrees depending on the car from on star to HVAC controls. It looks like it will function with a C6 but not a C5.

I went the double din route for a while,But I just never used a lot of the features, So I ended up installing a Kenwood a KDC X 501 Ran that puppy through two Rockford prime series amps, One 500 mono and 1 R-300 4 channel driving Polk audio components upfront and matching mids in the rear with one 12" Rockford sub, And Guys This thing just plain kicks ***, and its not a crazy costly build if you do it yourself.
Excellent sound you wont be sorry
Also Dennis Built me a smoking amp rack for a great price, Really does its job.
