Mechanical Expertise....
or the lack thereof! I admit, this is very close to my level!
Luckily, my Kevin is very adept. This weekend, thanks to Kevin, Silver got a new shifter, and I can now see the display on the a/c unit again.
Last week, he put in the new a/c condenser and compressor and, midweek, cleaned the throttle body.
My girlfriends and my daughters all say "Everyone needs a Kevin."
Thanks to one of my CF girlfriends, Beadist, Silver also is now much cleaner and shinier!
Loving my LOUD c5!

I used to dream of a girl that could work on cars . sigh, but only as a kind of joke, I often had antique or old sports cars. I gave up on that one, and the tandem bike plan. Glad yours worked out, and glad you have a rewarding car to work. I used to work on a girls torn up VW bug and got little satisfaction with a job well done , because of the context.

Ok, CQRT, I am at least more knowledgeable than that!!!
I have a c3, and have for many years, which means I have to know how to check and add oil, brake fluid, power steering fluid, coolant, etc.
Just don't ask me to FIX anything!

That's why we have mod parties, just in case your Kevin isn't available.
Around here we have an Ed to do all of the repairs. He's kind of like the Kevin you keep around.

Ed!
I now need the inner rubber boot for the shifter and the stock leather boot. You know if any of the gang have such things laying around?!

Post a message in the club forum in the Southwest section and ask. I have spare parts out in the shed, but nothing for a shifter. There's no telling what the rest of the group might have sitting in the garage.

Reminds me the time I added oil to my Toyota and forgot to put back the oil cap. Drove about 20 mn before starting to see smoke coming from under the hood. It was not a pretty sight when I opened the hood.
Funny thing, the oil cap got wedged somewhere and didn't fall off.
