Merry Christmas----- Get The Vette
Things will take quite a change if a Viper pulls up to that light...

What Vette? What Camaro?

I'd take a V8 C5 over a V6 Camaro. I'd also take a SS or ZL1 Camaro over a stock C5 (for the same $$ of course).

If you're talking a base C5 vs base V8 Camaro? Depends upon age, mileage, mods, usage, etc. As a daily driver, I'd likely go for the Camaro.

If a 2nd car for weekend driving, the Vette all the way.

I have always been a GM guy for the most part although i have owned a couple of 5.0 mustangs when i was in high school but in my opinion the new Mustang GT's are way nicer looking than the Camaros ! I still would not buy either one as i love Vettes ! you can have any Camaro you want but the minute a Vette pulls up (From any generation that is) all the glory is gone, If there was any!
As for the interior ! Big deal, someone mentions that the Camaro interior is way nicer than a C5, well i used to think so until
my wife bought her brand new 2014 Cruze and she has the same dash as a Camaro, almost the same exact dash gauges and the digital speedo as a Camaro !!!! maybe better seats that's about it.
I have a 2012 Cruze and the gauges in that car are far nicer than the gauges in my 2014 Camaro.

Yeah, I am on both! Funny when they call the new Camaro a C5, everytime I see that I think of my C5 Corvette.......... So I guess I have C5x2!

I bought my 1999 Corvette in 2007. I still own it.

I bought my 2011 Camaro brand new and sold it 7 months ago.

Guess which one I like better?

My parents have a 2011 SS Camaro that I've driven a few times. It's nice. I really have no complaints for it other than head room. I'm 6'2 and have to lean the seat pretty far back just to fit. So far back that it's an awkward driving position. And the blind spots are pretty ridiculous because of the rear pillars on both sides. Drive what you like best, though

Plus its too bad that the older Vipers are way nicer looking than the new ones.. even most Viper guys will tell you that! New Viper is not that nice of a ride.

Not likely. Having owned both, the Viper will always win the attention ***** award.

As far as the rest, the newer vipers were made to look like the older ones so I don't know why you would say such a thing and the Gen V Vipers are the best yet....stick to vette talk bud .

It all depends upon what is most important to you.

Yes, the Vette is sexier. Yes, she is a true sports car.

No, she does not have rear seats or any modern electronics or interior. Not the best daily driver either.

The Camaro is newer and probably still has warranty. Better interior, better electronics. Both are really not practical so we will leave that out of the equation.

If this is the only car you will own, I might have to go with the Camaro. If it is a second car, I would go for the Vette.

If I were looking for only one muscle car (as said earlier, the Vette is a true sports car, so does not qualify as a muscle car), I would have to look very hard at the Challenger. Sure the Challenger is heavier, but has a real back seat and is more practical.

That's not me however. I have a C5 Z06 and would not trade it for a Camaro, unless it were the Z28. I would not buy a Z28 however, since for that amount of money, I would buy a new 2015 Corvette Z51.

In Dec 2012 I was ready to order a 2013 RS Camaro when a guy I work with said why not look at a used vette. So I started looking and found mine for just under what it would have cost me for the Camaro.

I test drove a leftover 2014 2SS vert a few months ago. Not impressed with the ride and visibility. For having the L99 400 hp auto, it felt sluggish and heavy off the line. It did have some nice new tech features such as my homelink nav, heated seats, etc, but I left overall unimpressed for a car that had a $40K + price tag. I guess since I own a C6 i had higher expectations, and I was wrong. Nice looking car though, maybe the ZL1 would have impressed me more. The salesman couldn't understand why I walked away?

I think the Camaro looks "meaner" while the 'Vette looks "sexier".

The newer Vipers are meant to look like the older ones!!! Your statement makes a lot of sense ! Is this because no one bought the Vipers for a while and Dodge stopped making them and after so much pressure from hard core Dodge fans they brought back the Viper to please the crowd ? Let see how many Vipers they sell vs the Z06 and who will stay in business selling their top sports car ! If you think the Viper is a good looking car then maybe you should get one but I am entitled to my opinion
when I say the Viper is not as nice as the Z06 so don't get upset !

Upset...? Look at my post again, what indicates my being upset.? Ill quote it for ya again on bottom .
You certainly have the right to your opinion, and if you don't like the looks of the Viper, that's great. But we weren't discussing "liking", we were discussing "attention". As I stated, I am fortunate enough to have owned both (already got one as I've stated already). I was merely pointing out that they are much more of attention getters than corvettes. Ask any Viper owner who owned a Vette prior (there are many of them). As far as sales go, how is this even relevant? I couldn't care less how many they sell . It seems you're the one upset and really, I don't know why. Take a chill pill buddy.

The question is one only you can answer. Which do you like/want more? The Corvette or the Camaro?

If you want 2 small extra seats, current day toys, and if you're not over 6' then camaro,
I'm 6'3" and have a suburban as my daily driver, so I prefer the C5, the camaro has too many blind spots and I kept hitting my damn head on the roof! I would have to bend my head down to look out the side windows. Don't have that problem with my C5

I'm thinking selling my C5 Vert and getting into a ZL1 Camaro. I have a two year old and really need the back seat. The Vette will always be a two seater, unfortunately.

Default What about the fun factor?

Most posts are about which is faster, but what about the driving experience?
I ask because I have a '15 2SS/RS convertible. My buddy is a Corvette enthusiast, owns a C2 & a high end body shop. I was visiting with him last Friday & mentioned that I was on the way to check out a base C5 as a second vehicle. He asked the reason, since my Camaro is just as fun to drive as a C5 & I don't go to the track. It got me wondering if I'd be making a wise purchase.
