Something I'd never consider, unless 'caliper covers', and a 'wheelskin' were on the order list!
I knew a chap that had them on his C6. He needed to sell his car for some reason, but had no takers, He ended up restoring his car to stock doors, selling soon afterward.
I'm going to put my $.02 worth in here and then I will leave. I have the Dream Car Custom hinges on my car. Been on for about 3 years or so. I chose this kit because I didn't have to trim any panels or do any wire extentions to make them work and I could put it back to stock without any damage to any panels to worry about fixing. Have not had one issue with them except having to change the struts out a couple times. I attribute that to the really warm weather we have here in Arizona. I can't say how much a shop will charge for the installation as I installed them myself with some help from the son-in-law. Took about 4 or so hours from start to finish. The longest part was adjusting the doors to where I was happy with the fit and sealing. They have never gone out of adjustment since I put them on. No wind noise or water leaks either. They seal great. They do not open as far as the stock hinges but go about 3/4 of the way so that is plenty for me to get in and out. I only put them up when I am at a show or car gathering and I don't drive it everyday so it works for me. I don't think even if I did drive it a lot more then I do it wouldn't be that big of an issue. Would I do it again? Maybe, maybe not. Might not ever find out. If I ever have to sell the car I would take them off and put the stock hinges back on. If you are thinking about the usefulness of them for getting in and out of your garage or a tight spot, forget it. They don't work that way. The front of the door panel on the inside will hit the A pillar if you try to lift the door before it clears it. So you do have to open them a little before you start to put them up. I will say this though, they do attract a lot of positive attention at shows. Even from other Corvette owners and they have asked where they could get them. A show I was at in October anounced that they had a first at that particualr show that has never happened before and the show has been going on for 15 years. The car that won the C5 custom class got almost all the votes. Guess what? it was my car and there were a lot of Vette people there that had a vote. So to the OP, it is your car and your money and do what will make you happy. I am happy I did it.
Actually. I think I've changed my mind. I wish every single car had "lambo doors". Would really reduce the likelihood of door dings or marks in random parking lots
Variety is the spice of life. You can either like something or not, whatever rings yer bell.
It's not wether someone else likes a certain style but rather if you like it. If after researching you find you want to do this do it. Asking if someone else thinks this or that colour makes ones butt look phat will just get you opinions. I would never base a decision on others opinions. YMMV

Haha! Parking lot spots would probably just be smaller.
I have these. I put them on myself. Love them, they're great. Don't use them to often, but they are nice to throw up every now and then. Installation took 6 hours and 3 hours.
Just looks pretentious. Wrong on so many levels. A Lambo is designed from day one to have an overall design theme that works whether the doors are up or down. Almost any other car looks pathetic when the standard doors are jacked straight up to say, "Look at me."
The one and only advantage that I can see to these doors is that you can cram your car into a really narrow parking space and not worry about dinging the next-door vehicle. Of course your vehicle can still take a mighty big ding from that same next-door vehicle, so after you exit your vehicle, using your cell phone camera, take a photo of the next door vehicles' plates, just in case the ding's a biggie.
Do your own thing OP. I guarantee the reaction ppl will have to the lambo doors will be significantly different than what you're getting here on the forum.
I'd recommend vertical doors and to talk to ppl who have or have had them. This kit does not make exit/entry any more difficult than normal.

The novelty will be over in a week. Spending 4000 bucks just to get reactions from people is, in my opinion, pretty dumb.

I'll say that is because people tend to tell you the truth here on the forum...at shows, events, etc., where they are face to face, I'm sure people rarely tell someone their Lambo doors are lame.
That doesn't mean they aren't still thinking it or chuckling with their friends about it.
With that said, the OP absolutely should do his own thing. It doesn't matter if people dislike your mod, only that you like it. Just don't be surprised or hurt if people chuckle about it - it's a very polarizing mod/subject (like mullets, fanny packs, spinner rims, neon light kits, spears, tail light louvers, brake caliper covers, etc) LOL

the novelty will be for as long as he has them...but besides that and either way, whats really dumb is not doing something that one believes may bring him joy because someone else thinks it dumb....
