1999 Callaway Corvette

It features a 382cc, 6.2 liter powerhouse, 373 Rear End Ratio. Top of the line in 1999. This car was repainted using the 3 step Glasurit porcess. It was finished in BMW 287 Blue Pearl color. This car was featured in the November 18th, 2002 issue of Autoweek magazine. Dale Earnhardt Jr purchased this car in 2004.
The Callaway C12 was originally created to win the GT2 class at LeMans. In fact, a Callaway C12.R took the class pole position at LeMAns in2001, beating Porsche, Ferrari and other world calss marques. Subsequent Callaway C12 road cars utilized much of the C12.R technology, but configured to present the driver with a refined sportscar with excellent road car manners.
Built in conjunction with IVM Engineering Group of Germany, the C12 project was a combined effort of Callaway Cars (USA) and Callaway Competition (Germany). With styling provided ny Callaway's accomplished designer, Paul Deutschman, the C12 used the 1997-2004 Corvette platform as a donor vehicle, transforming an already great car into a world beater. With the completely new body a full two meters wide to take advantage of LeMans dimensional regulations, Callaway engineers developed the C12 coil-over suspension with its own unique control arm streamline tubing and high pressure, gas-over-oil adjustable dampers. C12 road cars were powered by the SuperNatural version of the new LS-series Corvette engines.
Only 19 Callaway C12 road cars were produced, purchased as an average price of approximately $200,000. They are coveted by leading car collectors worldwide.

Anyways, he's offering the car for sale in hopes someone else might enjoy, as he seldom drives any of his cars. But if it doesn't meet the reserve, he'll keep it, and be just fine with that
