Sorry, I have no answer.

you opened a post from 2015, so the current state of the art might have changed. One thing missing from a lot of these conversations is legality. While the law is behind the times, the intent of the laws, safety is still up to date.. A lot of aftermarket set ups use motorcycle lights. Which are expected to turn with the vehicle, so don't throw as wide of a beam as a car headlight, which might be useful to know, depending on your terrain, when forming a buying decision.

I also see posts where guys validate their E bay DIY lighting choices with the statement they are not blinding people because they get no headlight flashes the other way. Not good enough, and negates the present day reality of few people bother with such a signal at the closing speeds seen today, if they ever even knew there were such a signal.

If they are too careless to get out of their car and check the light pattern, I certainly would not be taking their safety advice. The reflector and the light source are required to match, the original design, otherwise the beam is not focused correctly.

Dont waste your time on those.

Spend a little more and get some ACA projector clones for a cheap bump up in output (black housings may also be available from forum vendors)

There are several good options. The cheapest would be a set of HIR bulbs in the stock housing. I'm currently running the ACA headlights from sharp light innovations. This is absolutely the best light possible while maintaining the stock look. The KnightDrive system that K.I.T.T. is selling is also a good option if you want a modern low rise look.
