Sig i agree on the stock pads being really dusty, after i started doing track days its like they started to break down??? just normal breaking on the street makes them dust like crazy idk mind it, but its anoying to ALWAYS wipe that **** off my grey rims were black from just taking a cruise with my girlfriend.

Default Ceramic pads

All Carbotech compounds are compatible with each other so, you can use the same rotor for street and track just swap pads and go. As far as rotors all you need is a set of Centric premium rotors plain face. If interested in any of the Carbotech products let me know I will be happy to help you. Do not use any Ceramic Pad on a race track....
Totally agree. Did my first HPDE with ceramics because i figured i would "go easy" first time out. Had to sit out half of last session due to lack of brakes. Trundled home carefully - pulled pads and found them to be melted!! Now swap to "dirty" pads for track days and then back to something less dusty for daily use. BTW - have managed a number of sessions at Autobahn, one at Road America and two days at Bondurant in Arizona on Baer slotted/drilled rotors with no cracks or failures. Probably not driving hard enough!!!!

I've used Hawk HPS for a few years and last year switched To HP+ Can't believe the huge improvement in initial bite and brake feel. They dust but they work. Stock GM rotors

Just be sure to stay away from cross drilled rotors if you ever plan on getting your car on a road course. Also you don't need slotted rotors if you are using a more aggressive racing pad like the Hawk brands. They don't produce the gasses that cheaper pads do, thus you don't need the slots to remove the gasses.

i found the exact same thing

worth elaborating on, the stock z06 pads, while slightly dustier than the HPS also had a better bite, but, not as good as the dustier hp_+

imo they are awesome for low cost, but, the OE z06 pads can be had off amazon for 150 a set shipped. that's the same pad the dealer sells you for 2x+ more
Did a little more research to see what's going on with Hawk's new stuff.

Looks like the 5.0 is the HPS replacement... supposed to have a better all around and have a better initial bite (one common complaint of the HPS).

The Street/Race pad is the same compound as the DTC-30, but has chamfered edges and shims to make it quieter. Probably designed as a replacement for the aging HP+, but based on the graph below, HP+ still has the edge in initial bite.

Street/Race pad looks like it might be a good pad for a dual purpose/compromise pad. I'd like to see how it compares to the Stoptech street performance pad.
