Took mine out of it's bubble last Fri the 13th and we still have a foot or more of snow on the ground (but not the roads) which were dry and sand free where I drove. I was no sooner than a mile down the road and broke into the spontaneous Corvette smile, just doesn't get better than that! After driving the pokey Subaru all winter the blast of acceleration was so much fun. Cant wait for the next decent day!
Wow! I really do sympathize with all of our forum members who put their cars into "sleep mode" for the northern hemisphere winter. Can't be easy having to put the cars into storage for several months.
Meanwhile, I am waiting for the weather Down Under to cool off a bit so that I can put the top down on my vert!
I'm slowly starting to see the nicer cars & bikes out on the road here but with a good foot and a half of snow on the lawn it will be a few more weeks before mine comes out.
I have yet to see a corvette out.
I have a seen a couple of Vettes around and a few days ago I passed a Ferrari going the opposite direction. Yet, there are still plenty of huge puddles from the melting and my car has spent a spotless rest in the garage, so I have no problem waiting until we get more rain to wash off the roads. My truck is still sitting at an angle on a snow mound in my driveway. When its wheels melt down to the pavement then it might be time to go for a drive in my Vette.

Yeah, but it's like getting a new car every year!!
On a serious note, if you ever have the unfortunate experience of seeing what road salt does to a car that's driven through the winter, you'd quickly understand why we do it.
Did that 'Vette have Connecticut plates on it, by any chance??
I don't know what state the plate was as I wasn't the photographer...But we may want to give this guy *some* credit. Perhaps the snowmobile was insurance in case he got the Vette stuck, then he could send the wife out for help. Or more likely she would tell him to get his *** on it for driving the Vette in that weather.

The reason I'm asking is this.....somebody I know, knows a guy who is currently on his second Z06, and in the summer, the "Z" is towing a trailer with a JetSki on it, and in the winter, the trailer has a sled on it. Why the car is registered in Connecticut, I don't know, but the dude spends a lot of time in the Rochester, NY area.....

Now I am curious and will try and research the picture further from my buddy at work who provided it (NH resident). All kidding aside I will bet he is having fun regardless of the weather while I just look at the Vette in the garage during winter. More power to him! Send the pic to the guy you know and guy he knows and see if it is him. It would be kind of interesting to know how it handles in the snow, if he uses chains, what type of tires etc..

The guy I'm thinking of, has been around here enough for me to take notice of the cars. On his C-5 Z06, I'm pretty sure I saw the snow tires on it that Goodyear made, in the Corvette sizes. The C-6 had some pretty aggressive looking tires on it, but I don't think anybody makes snow tires in those sizes, so I think they're Continental Extreme DWS tires.
Given my 40+ years of winter driving experience, the Corvette tires are too wide, to punch through the snow effectively, so even though a Corvette has good weight distribution for winter driving, it would be a handful....
