Default Low mileage

Any thoughts on how many Z06's remain with under 10,000 miles?

Not many I would suspect.

That would mean <1000 miles per year

probably a lot more than the average 01-04 production car

lot of wealthy old men bought these and never drove them

enough that you can find one fairly easy if you pay for it

More than most would think

Exactly

I bought mine after 17k miles and several owners... if it had remained with the first owner, it would have been well under 10k when I bought it in 2013

not sure why anyone would buy a car and not use it, I proudly have 73k+ and expect to put well over 4k more next month on a trip to east coast, but to each their own. maybe i should sell mine and buy a low miles one and drive it for another 10 years and put another 70K+ miles on the new one.

would be a good idea if things didn't age

the corvette community is really quirky if you haven't noticed. some use them as drivers, some show cars, some garage queens. you literally have guys who make 15k a year and 1.5mil a year in the same boat. i don't know of any other cars like this besides some old muscle and maybe a few select imports

wealthy people often buy these just for another item to have. they may be part of a garage collection and driven once a year. all varies. some guys have a car from each generation in their collection.

Because some people have multiple cars, motorcycles, boats, etc. and limited time to use them.

Mine should crest 20k this year, if I don't break something again. About 3 of the years I've owned it, has been spent on jackstands, waiting for repairs, or for various mods. It never leaves the garage (tiny 2-car) during the week, because I do deliveries with my work car. Racebum is basically correct about there being all kinds of owners, even though he is particularly rude towards older owners. I own a small business, and am FAR from rich, and bought my Z for a 50th birthday present.

Exactly

I've racked up 52k miles over the past four years between four different vehicles, but my Z06 got 4k in the past year and a half while my motorcycle acquired 8k in two years and my beater Trailblazer 10k in one year (the other 30k were on my Silverado, which I sold in August of '13)

My Z has been under the knife in my garage for a year and is almost done

Your right on all counts I belong to a big Corvette club there are people in the club who drive then race them and save them and have them just to have them and some have 5-6 -7 with no miles .I did the same for years and woke up one morning and it hit me ( What was I doing ?? ) not having fun is what I was doing so sold them all but one and now having big fun 5-7,000 miles a year YA HA .. I show ,race and drive on club runs and the Z-16 it does OK for all the above.. Go have some fun in your Corvette ,might get hit by a buss are something then what ? your wife sells them to some kid for half the worth ..
