i was like what?
Leaking motor mounts? I was about to check mine for leaks. Was wondering why my car shook so much. Always thought it was the cam.

OSAR!! They do dry out and crack and become WORTHLESS! Power brake your car and watch the engine rise up. If it does, you have a broken mount!!
The one on the DRIVERS SIDE takes the most abuse and is usually the first one to give up the ghost! Seen it several times!!! If you apply TORQUE to the drive train and that mount is bad, the engine will rise up and separate from the mount stud.

Not too common but yes, they can leak. The OE engine mounts are a "hydraulic" type, commonly found on many vehicles these days to suppress/minimize NVH. They contain a clear fluid that is very similar to silicone, but I don't think it's silicone.
Btw, they CAN be changed with the engine in place by removing the lower engine mounting nuts (not the cradle nuts) and carefully jacking the engine up. If you lower the cradle, you should follow up with a wheel alignment, that's why I say to raise the engine up and no alignment needed, if you leave the cradle alone.
