I'd love to have no filler requirement here. If it were me I'd put in one of them' there screened units. Better cooling, look cool... just maybe a DIY as the bought ones are $
According to the Sun Sentinel last month, effective Labor Day, all cars and trucks will need to have a front plate for registration renewal. It will be law due to the numerous red light cameras needing to have a front plate to photograph.
I just decided to become a felon when I bought my C5 15 years ago - never have run a front plate (but also cannot leave the city limits in Texas in that condition as the DPS has nothing better to do apparently). As soon as you hit the highway, they will ticket you. Since I am apparently breaking at least 50 laws now before I even get out of bed these days, what is one more!
No way to keep ahead of all the rules and regulations they pass now - the paper just keeps piling up. In fact that is all they do now is look for anything that people do and find a way to tax, fine and eventually outlaw it. When they say "We are a Nation of Laws", they are not kidding! What the don't say is that the laws just keep growing and changing - what is illegal today may be celebrated tomorrow. They won't stop until all innovation and ambition is restricted at this point. Front license plates are not even required by almost half the States, but give it time - if there is money to be made, the rest will eventually fall in line. Then they will start requiring front license plate lights so you can see the the other 12 hours a day, then they will add side plates on the doors and glow-in-the-dark roof plates for drone surveillance.
How did America ever become so successful in the beginning with so few laws!
In NJ they almost did away with front plates a few years ago. They thought it would save the state money seeing as how the state is always having money troubles. Almost passed too, but the state troopers were against it for "safety" reasons (they couldn't shoot your front plate). Meanwhile I haven't had a plate for 17 years and haven't gotten a ticket for it, even when stopped for other reasons. I might be moving to FL within the next year, too. Most of our families live there already. No plate and no emission tests. But no trees or twisty hilly roads either.

Thanks all - been a tad hectic here... Headed back north Saturday morning to begin the cleaning out, yard saleing, packing mountain of work.
Fla is going to require front plates just as I f'ing move here!??! Well, that blows chunks! It doesn't really surprise me but it sux.
If that's the case, I'll run it. I know everyone *itches that Fla's hot and humid. Well, that's better than freezing and three feet of white chit IMO. If I get too hot, I'll jump in the pool or go inside. While we've been here it's been mid-90's and really hasn't been brutal with the constant breezes. Now, I know - the humidity hasn't arrived yet but as I said, I'll take that over freezing any day.
As for "no emissions testing", I'm sure that they'll change that before too long. Not a problem for me though as I'm pretty much stock except for the CAI and Z06 TI catback. Don't need any more HP/Torque than it already has as far as I'm concerned.
Why you guys make such a big deal out of a front plate is beyond me. About the only time I even notice mine is when I wash the car.
Just messes up the front lines of the car as far as I'm concerned. I have the color matched filler plate for mine and the car looks MUCH cleaner when it's on instead of that fugly plate

And AGAIN, how often do you ever really look at it? I only even notice it when I'm washing it and the factory plate surround actually looks good.

I don't HAVE to look at it to know it's fugly! I know I'm fugly but I don't run around lookin' in mirrors to remind myself of that fact. Some people care about how their possessions look. For example, there are those who polish their exhaust tips and there are those who don't. I can guess which class you fall into...
