when I bought my mgw shifter I got the one made for the c6 ****, it feels perfect to me
A question please. To replace the c5 **** with a c6 ****, do I only need to buy a c6 **** or do I need to buy more parts. Will the new c6 **** just screw into place? And is the c6 **** height the same or lower height?
Thanks

The fixing method is totally different. If you want the C6 look, either you need a modified C6 **** or a C6 shift **** and shifter assembly to replace the C5 assembly.

Thank you for the reply. Posting a picture here for you. Is this what you are talking about and is this all I need? And is this a direct bolt-on a C5?
Best regards
I went the inexpensive route, installing the red "3" billiard ball from a seller on ebay for less than $15. He drilled out the ball so that it would screw into the shaft. I actually like it, it feels a lot better than the stock **** I replaced it with.

Sorry to be slow in responding - been away. Yes, you can get it all from Cultrag, a forum sponsor/advertiser.
I learned to drive with an M22 Rockcrusher in my '69 Z/28. Still the best shifter I've ever used. For power shifting, the stock C5 shifter is like a glorious Gelding. Which is to say worthless. The Hinson appears to be the best value for the money. The Tick is probably the best overall, but I'm never going to be able justify their price.
Its actually cheaper now then when I got it. I did need to drill the hole out a little bigger and tap new threads, but the handle is plastic and was really easy to do
If you like the stock shifter you'll love the stock shifter with a rebuilt box and my shifter bushing. This option retains the low shift effort which is the part you like about it, but it removes the vague, floppy feel. It doesn't change the throw or anything like that it's just the way we wish it would have been from the factory.
C6 shifter and **** bolts right in and is a night and day difference if you want to keep a relatively stock look and feel.
pretty sure the shift **** was a carry over from C4 generation and was by far the biggest thing about driving and the feel of the interior that dated the C5 and made it feel “old” in not the good kind of way. Crazy what a little bend in the shaft and an updated **** can do to make a difference in the overall experience of a C5
