I wouldn't put too much stock in this guy's comments. Google him and you'll find he's pretty much all over the place in what he writes about. No where is he considered an automotive expert. For example check out his article below and see what he considers sports cars. Grain of salt folks. If we get pissed and fire back at everyone who voices an anti-Corvette opinion we'll have no time to wax our whips.
These liberals are all the same, he will bash a corvette because its a masculine car that any normal man would like, but he wouldn't dare say a bad word about a mini cooper, or a Volkswagen beetle, because he wouldn't want to upset his fan base.

Really don't care what some guy at MSN writes about the C5. He's most likely never had one and is commenting out of pure ignorance. And, everyone has their own opinions - no one said a Corvette was the right car for all the masses.
Meh, who cares what anyone else thinks. You own your car because you enjoy it. Heck, one of my other cars is a 1988 Fiero GT, now that's a car that gets bashed a lot!

Stick with finance...having a mid-life crisis of your own? Subconsciously, wanting to buy a C5 and drive a real car, but to much peer pressure from your tree hugging crowd? Go buy a Tesla Model S, drive to Starbucks, sit on the veranda, discuss how much you like and admire the President and ALL he's accomplished, talk about how small your carbon foot print is, and admire the parking lot full of small hybrid NON gas guzzling, high tech, yuppie, cookie cutter cars while sipping your Mocha Latte.
Nothing depressing about owning a C5 except NOT enough time to be on the road more...
Am I the only one who actually read and comprehended what the article said?
Its clear he was talking about the C4, not the C5. The writer was clear to mention LATE 80s to 90s and referenced the Barbie Corvette. He was not talking about the C5 and I cant believe nobody caught that. Its the editor that screwed up with the C5 photo.

I can only speak for myself, but, again, I could careless what some writer's opinion is, who is obviously not an automobile expert (writes for MicroSoft Network). So no, I didn't read it. In my opinion, which counts the most to me, the C5Z is the best bang for your buck sports car out there, bar none.
Even the much maligned C4 is worthy of respect, especially in the 90's. The LT1 and LT4 C4s were not dogs in their time and are still respectable. In addition the ZR1 set a speed record that stood for more than a decade and wasn't decisively bested in performance until the 2001 C5 Z06.
