Default Oil Burning Smell - On going problem

Well for the passed few week I've had the problem of a burning oil smell coming from under the hood when my zo6 gets up to temperature. I've changed both valve cover gaskets to make sure that wasn't the problem and its still smoking under the hood and gets me frustrated every time it happens. Just wanted to see where you guys think i should be going/looking next with this because I'm sure I'm not the only one this has happened to

Do you have a valve cover breather? If not make sure that the actual oil cap and neck are sealed good. The neck twists inside of the valve cover and is sealed with a O-ring. Also feel around the back of your Cylinder heads and valve covers and see if you feel any saturation. I would also get the car up in the air and make sure your plug is snug and your oil filter is snug....

to me it looks like it is coming from the drivers side by the headers. As soon as it smokes i try and find a place to pull over to look at. And it seems to come from there. Like one of you said, I'm going to get it up in the air some time when it gets a little warmer than 50 this week to really try and see if i can find the problem. I'm going to look into the oil pan gasket as well.

Check out this thread.

What I ended up doing was clean it up real well with brake clean and degreaser, then forced some ultra-black silicone in the tiny hole that was spitting oil. It has been about 80% effective but I think it still seeps a tiny bit. At least it's not spitting it onto the exhaust now. Really poor machining in this area, looks like rough cast.
