When I had my car in for service this weekend, it was discovered that there were footprints across the top cover on the radiator. Apparently some mice found their way in.
The small wholesaler that I bought my car from had just moved into a warehouse space that was in the process of being remodeled/rehabbed. I am thinking that's where the mice got in. At least I hope it was there and not at my apartment.
My questions are how do I determine if they are still there, and if so, what's the best way to make them get out and stay out?
Old fashion snap trap, (mouse trap). Use a little peanut butter and lay the traps (3 or 4) around the area under the hood or just on the floor beneath the motor. Mice are not very smart but are very curious. So move the traps a little bit every day or two. Rats on the other hand are smart and don't like things moved around. If you find poop that is the size of rice, you have mice. If you have poops a 1/4 inch and larger, you have rats and need rat traps. Use peanut butter on the trigger. Rod
I'll rent you my cat Miss Molly I find her foot prints on my hood I know she is looking for anything or anybody messing with the C-5.. I know some people say you let your cat on your Corvette well yep I don't have mice she has never scratched it ,get a cat ..
Irish Spring and Bounce Dryer Sheets
Also buy some Ultrasonic Pest Devices and place them in the garage and even inside the car on an extension cord. I have these all over the garage, house, and pole barn. They do not affect our dogs.

Just put some rat poison during the night. Check it in the morning, if you find a dead mouse, they were there, but no longer. If there are no mice, there never were any.
Moth ***** work great if you don't mind the smell.
Dryer sheets may work for awhile, but you may need to replace them periodically. I stored my camper for 4 months two years ago and found mice had made a couple of nests right ON the dryer sheets.
I use a product called Fresh Cab - works great, smells like pine.
There is a product on the market that smells strongly of peppermint that a is supposed to drive mice away. I don't recall the name mouse be gone or something like that. You put a few drops on a piece of sponge and let it do it's job. I'll try to look for the bottle I have.
Here ya' go:
Peppermint Oil
To use peppermint to get rid of mice, purchase peppermint oil at a health food store. Peppermint oil is a more concentrated form of peppermint. It's different from peppermint extract that you find in the baking aisle at the grocery store. You can often find it near the aromatherapy oils at the health food store. Soak a cotton ball in the peppermint oil and place it near where you think mice are entering your home. Typical places where mice squeeze in are doorways where the bottom seal is weak or near clothes dryer vents. You can leave several cotton ***** soaked in peppermint oil in areas of the house where mouse droppings are frequent. The strong peppermint odor sends the mice back outside.
It's a more common problem with the newer cars. According to a friend who owns 2GM and 3 FORD dealerships, the pack rats and mice love eating the harness out of new cars. He told me that since the Dielectric is soy based on a lot of the new wires they like the taste.
