I have a 1999 auto c5 and I want to convert it to a manule. I have a friend parting out at 2004 c5 and gonna be getting the swap with rear end from him for a pretty good price. My question is what all do I need. Flywheel back. Clutch and brake pedal, clutch reservoir, tranny, rear diff, and tranny harness. WHAT ELSE WOULD I NEED! Help
Shifter, tune, clutch res bracket, remote bleeder, under dash wiring.
Went this route with fairly low cost used z06 trans/tt, pedals, res, ect. Already had z06 rear end in it
Still cost $5,000.
You'll spend another grand just on support parts, another on a dyno tune. Not to mention labor.
Unless the rest of your car is all modded out I wouldn't do it. My whole car was low mileage and the full exhaust and new ls2 engine and suspension were done so I thought it was worth it since the auto was toast and the rear cover needed replaced.
Not really worth it especially if you are mostly stock.
Unless you really want to do the project, it would be cheaper - and a whole lot easier - to sell your auto C5 and buy a 6 speed. Also, a good opportunity to get a later car without the parts unavailability of the early year cars.

While it is apart you'll want to do things like the couplers, maybe the shifter, remote bleeder, two long bolt starter, mounts, rear main, things that would save you from breaking it down again.
