if I decide to let insurance take it I will be taking the quarter panels off, long tube headers, offroad pipe and wheels and transmission.I do have all stock parts to put car the way it was.I just don't know if I get more money selling it for parts than just letting it go. thanks!

Don't know mileage or how much buy back would be or how much you are getting for it but based on the pictures. It's done

I would just let the car go. Hope the adjuster gives you a good settlement and see if you can take off the mods before they haul it away.

I agree. See if you can take off the parts you want before they take it. I was able to take my mods off and put the stock parts back on. Goodlucknon the settlement.

the headers are only 2weeks old and trans is 2 weeks old just rebuilt. I was told they would only give me 10% value of parts I added to the vehicle.

Just be aware if the total value they give you includes the mods on the car at time of appraisal and they go to sell the salvage with the mods that are not there, there could be a issue of insurance fraud. Just saying after 40 years adjusting claims.

Happened to a buddy of mine. They re-adjusted the settlement after they discovered some parts were missing. So be careful.

Don't touch the car.. its gone..start over. General rule about mods..lost investment. Seldom does anyone (insurance adjusters particularly) pay more money for anything non-stock. Its beyond a total loss, because you loose the value of the car and what ever was invested in perceived "improvements" that don't add any real value. 105K Vette ...maybe $3-5K in the present condition.

To buy it back, maybe. You should get 15 to 18K.

Let us know what the insurance adjuster comes up with. It would be interesting since I have an 01 convertible.
