Just keep it clean, wave at other Corvette owners passing and have fun. Oh yes with the money you saved go to Mexico for (two weeks) spring break and brag about your completely stock Corvette over a Mojito. That's what I do and have a tan to prove it IMHO Sorry I am no help.

I have a 2003 and had Kooks long tube headers, x-pipe, Corsa Xtreme and Vararam CAI installed along with a dyno tune. What a difference and it still passed emissions.

What do you want to do with your car? Your post is way too vague. The search tool works fantastic to finding build threads from other members who have started in your shoes.

Here is my build thread on a 2000 C5. YMMV, but I am happy.

The car is already very powerful, so I would upgrade the suspension first, to help control. Or perhaps upgrade the driver, for the same reason.

I would be bummed if I got into a need for speed situation, perhaps to avoid an accident, and my car went sideways, out of control, because the power didn't match the chassis. My car already likes the rear wheels to try to pass the less energetic fronts at times . Once the rear end stopped wanting to step out, I would go for more power.

Such is the boring advice of an old man. Most choose ego or straight line , over road performance, but I grew up driving an old Morris Garage A type, ( 62 MG A ) and favor handling over power .

To illustrate my point, a story.

I was watching the undercard on what used to be a the local dirt track, brought there to support a guy I new who was racing a Datson B210 , a small econo box unibody car, the entire field was comprised of these cars. Except at this race, one driver brought an MG B roadster to the race.

His MG was out powered by the other cars, but the deeply rutted dirt track allowed the MG to take a high line, and build speed with a superior suspension. Seeing their cars are now all uncompetitive for the rest of the season, at the next green flag, they caught the underpowered MG easily at the first turn and crashed him out.

If you are planning on supercharging one day, go with the 1 7/8s headers and bigger plennum/throttlebody now. Marginal gains over the cheaper smaller stuff, but makes a big difference when you want to S/C. I went with all the big-dog stuff for same reason, but happy with NA for now.

This is a good list, along with the stall converter and new rear gears. You also might want to consider some C6 Z06 sway bars and C6 Z06 shocks for better handling.
