Why I would never spend my money on aftermarket replica wheels.

All four looked the same!

What is that, when was the last time those wheels were cleaned if ever. these wheels have been on my car since 2009, aftermarket repo's. Pic taken within the last month. Not a mark on them. Please!!! And I'm sure there are many more on here like mine.

Factory wheels will suffer the same fate if neglected.

I'm with Frank.

When I shopped for my wheels, I gathered that there is a big difference between a proper triple-coated (Nickel, Copper, Chrome) chrome process and a cheap Chinese alternative. My reproduction wheels manufactured by "Factory Reproductions" are holding up just fine.

Obviously not the OP's car. Must be in a junk yard somewhere. If not they should be. Fix them, no way.

Think of it this way... You saved some time stripping the chrome off.

Now you can do what ever you want with them.
Polish them, Paint them, powder coat them..

My wheels are original to the car I know they are not chrome but, the previous owners took good car of them, it's an 02 and since I bought the car in 2013 they don't see snow and car stays inside till the salt is all washed off the roads in the spring. I also pull them at least 2 times during the driving season here and give them a good cleaning and wax inside and out. Would do the same no matter what wheels were on the car

I've seen lots of factory alloy truck rims neglected, they don't get quite that bad, you get what you pay for. But you are correct if you take care of anything it will last longer.

Its not just aftermarket, I bought some stock chrome 2011 Denali wheels and they were horrible, worse than that. Some people just don't take care of their stuff.

I had some chrome replica C 6 wheels for a couple of years. Daily driver stayed outside and the only problem I had was the barrels were getting pitted. I sanded and painted them on the inside. Got to wax them sometimes.

"Replica", "Chinese", and "chrome" are three words that should never be used when talking about Corvette wheels. Geezus...

My thoughts on that wheel is that it was not properly taken care of. My car had a set of chrome C5 Z05 wheels installed right after delivery to the selling dealer back in 2003 and they still look like new. They were made by Factory Reproductions and have been taken care of all their life.

I recently saw a 2014 C7 with the chrome factory wheels on it. The wheels obviously were not taken care of as in two short years the chrome was peeling.
