Back from the dead! She has been in storage since early November and is coming out of hibernation Sunday! To say I'm excited is an understatement.
In the meantime I'm still chipping away at my other project - 2002 Reg. Cab stepside Silverado with a Sloppy turbo kit, 4L80E swap, 8.8 Ford rear end, etc.
Man, I just read through 3 years worth of story telling on your car.. excellent stuff you've done to her over the years. Real car enthusiast stuff. I enjoyed the read and look forward to future updates as the weather improves.

Glad you enjoyed it. I should have more "small" updates to come, and I am trying to get back into the habit of photographing with my Nikon DSLR rather than a crappy camera phone.
First up on the list when she gets back:
-Oxygen sensors
-Airbag clock spring
-Air bag horn membrane
-Oil change
-Catch can/crank case ventilation system of some sort (still researching best options)
I'm not much of a drag racer so this thing may never see the quarter. If I can get deep into the 12s I'd be happy but traction is a real issue in the first couple gears and I don't want to break anything in the rear end.
The dyno is a different story, I actually put this thing on the dyno when it had just a bolt on LS1 in it, so I plan to go back to the same dyno with the cammed L92/LS3 and see what it puts down for a true apples to apples comparison. Same dyno, similar conditions, etc.
Just read through this entire thread and sad to reach the end. Any new updates? I'm picking up a 99 FRC this Friday, already left a deposit, all black with black C6 wheels. Your thread has really made me more anxious to pick it up than I already was!
It's actually just sitting a lot. I am wrapping up a turbo build on a regular cab stepside '02 Silverado so that's taking up all my time. I plan on road racing the C5 this summer and just dailying it. May even post it for sale to see what kind of interest there is in it.
While doing some no-lift shifts, the resulting backfire blew out one of the baffles in the base mufflers on the car and it was rattling around (not the first time this has happened!).
So, the solution was to remove all restrictions. Chopped off the stock mufflers, welded up extensions and tips, shot it with high temp black. Party time!
Out for a couple last rips this season. Trying to avoid putting it away in storage as long as possible
Finished up installing all new LED lights in the garage. The output is incredible, and no more annoying fluorescent flickering/constant bulb changes.
I pulled the trigger on an inexpensive ITB system knowing it would need fabrication and "fixing", but since I have to change a lot of things to make it work with my setup, that's not really a problem.
Here is what I'm thinking of doing in terms of actuation - using the OEM TB as a servo to control the ITBs. (Not my video)
Thanks for the kind words, guys. I'm working on some other household projects right now but should be able to make some progress on the ITBs once the new year hits.
I recently installed all new tie rods (inner and outer) as well as ball joints on the front end, in addition to Energy Suspension Poly bushings in all 4 front control arms. It tightened up the steering nicely following an alignment. I need to get better about taking pictures.
For a couple years I rebuilt totaled C5's, 8 in all inc. 2 ZO6's The last one was a torch red 99 that was REALLY totaled. It only had 39 K miles so I bought it for $3900.00. After welding a junkyard frame (firewall forward - took two days) on and replacing every body part except the roof and doors (thank you Ebay) I had $7000.00 into it. That was 6 years ago, it's a keeper and has 55K on it now. Those notchbacks just look sooo cool.
