Goodbye C5....Hello C6!

And congrats.
The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
I'll be spending my weekend lowering the car down on the stock bolts, getting the windows tinted, and continuing the detail cleaning inside and out.
Next up is a Vararam CAI, a Corsa Sport exhaust, and a tune to bring it all together.
Plus I already have one of Dennis's (Double D Mods) new Kenwood double-din head units on order so I can update the stereo and Nav system.

For outward appearances, I still prefer the C5's more rounded body angles than the sharper ones on the C6, and the C5's pop-up headlights will always have a certain appeal.
Another thing the C5 has over the C6 is the code reader built into the DIC. This was by far one of my favorite features of the C5 as I am one of those who enjoys fixing my own car. The C6 does not have this feature so I'm having to improvise with a bluetooth OBD reader that I can read on my phone.
Other than these points, the C6 has a more modern, and more comfortable, interior. I don't need to have my center console altered to install a double-din stereo, and the seats are head and shoulders above the standard seats I had in my C5.
Engine-wise, the LS3 is a fricken beast that the LS1 doesn't compare to. When I step on the gas in my car it takes off like a rabbit with a cattle prod up it's a$$.

The short shifter on the C6 makes this an even better experience.

Regarding the suspension and the general "ride" of each car, one of the first things I did as a mod on my C5 was to install C6 Z51 sway bars. My C6 came with the Z51 option so it's difficult to say which was better.
One of the biggest differences is the fact that my C6 is a convertible with a power top (love that option!), and my C5 was a coupe. The time and ease of going from top up to topless is no comparison, and I don't have to worry about becoming a member of the FRC.
