1999. After installing Extreme cat back and C6 Z51 sways i had to take it out. Did a hard pull, seen something on the DIC about traction control. Reading manual I see its says DIC will display "Traction Sys Active", if traction control has been utilized. Next day i installed Blackwing. Seeing I had battery disconnected I wanted to clear H codes. Had the TSC code 1255H. Would this code be stored from the traction control being utilized or do I have a potential EBCM problem or other issues.
I cleared the code last night. Had it out for a drive today, code did not reappear. I'll keep checking on it and keep my fingers crossed.
...While I hope this isn't the holy truth, but I recently read a post in regards to a member trying to resolve or fix the EBCM issue's, that a 1255 code was, as they referred to it as the 'kiss of death'. Hope this is a unfounded statement, owning a 99' myself, I'm just keeping my fingers crossed as well !!....
I had something similar happen when I put new brake lines on my 2000 (with active handling). I had a buddy help me bleed them, and then once the procedure was done we started the car and the service active handling lights were on! I almost had a heart attack as these modules go for $1600 on ebay! Anyways, the codes went out when I took it around the block and that was 10,000 miles ago LOL. I have since picked up a spare EBCM for a decent price just incase mine craps out, which I hope it doesn't lol.
Update on this situation. Have been out a handful of times. Have kept an eye on the codes. No codes had showed up. Disconnected battery today to do Ipod interface install. Checked codes before disconnect. Nothing. Done with install and reconnected battery. 1255h was there. Reset. Will keep an eye on codes to see if it shows back up.
