Default 1998 Passive key fob?

Anyone know where I can get a new one with the passive switch?

E-BAY, AMAZON, would be the best place.

If you want a new one, you'll need to buy one from a 2000 as said, all 2000 and earlier are interchangeable except no passive feature on the 2000 fob. The problem will come if you buy a used fob, you'll pay a lot and probably end up with one with the same problem that seems to befall the earlier fobs.

What is the problem with your passive fobs? When I got mine they did not work. I took them apart and cleaned the contacts. Both work fine now.

They stopped working and I changed the batteries. What contacts did you mean the battery ones ?

How are they supposed to work? I put a new battery in mine when I got it and it still does nothing.

My passive feature was not working. I cleaned the passive contacts. I don't think that is your problem though. Did you do the fob relearn through the DIC?

I tried that nothing. The dealer tested my remote and said it was bad.If the car battery is disconnected for a long time will that erase the remote ?

If you take batteries out of fob you have to reprogram through DIC. If you disconnect car battery, you can resync fobs by pushing the lock and unlock at same time till horn beeps. I never had the car battery out for long period of time. Only have disconnected it a few times to work on things.
