I will be taking a lot of trips to PA (from Michigan) in the future, so I bought a EZ Pass for the tolls. For those who also use them where do you keep them ??? Permanent mount ? will they work in the glove box ? Thanks
Mine is affixed to the windshield behind the mirror on the passenger side. Almost can't see it from the outside with the tint at the top of the windshield hiding most of it. Seriously doubt it will work in the glove box. It contains an RFID chip that the scanners above when you drive through a toll station has to be able to read.
I want to switch between truck and car so you use the Velcro ???
I keep mine in the glove and put it on the dash when rolling through the toll - it needs to go fairly far forward so the reader gets a clean shot at it before the roof 'cuts off the signal'. Mine is in a suction cup unit so it pretty much stays put when I place it on the dash...

When you get it, it comes with Velcro strips. I keep mine in the console till needed then snap it on the window. I also mounted mine to the right of the mirror, up high. Where in Pa.

I do the same thing have it mounted right next to the rear view mirror. I used to switch them between cars but kept forgetting to put them in the car I needed. Finally got two of them no issues
For those that dont know, you dont need to have the transponder with you at all. If you register your license plate online with them, ( can have many numbers). You will get a blue light when running through the toll, the camera will search for the number of the plate going through toll and charge your account as normal.
I leave mine in the glove just in case but this has worked for many months.

I use "Toll Tags" here in North Texas. The tags are furnished free of charge, and I am only charged for actual tolls. Better yet, all three tags are linked to a single payment account, so I don't have to maintain multiple deposits. So I have a toll tag on each of my 3 cars. No brainer...no need to take-on-take-off.
Same here, Lizzard, except mine are TxTag issued free of charge by TxDOT. Three vehicles, each with its own tag, all three in one toll account. Couldn't be easier (except for having to pay the tolls ).
Better yet for you and me, your TxTags work in our NTTA system, and our NTTA Toll Tags work in yours (which I believe includes the Austin/CenTex area as well).

I tried the glovebox and as expected I forgot to put it on the dash. NJ issues as many as you want, so it's easier to have one for each car. They come with clear Velcro, and as unsightly as they are it's better for me to just have them in place. Hot wheels' looks like the exterior mount one that goes on the front license plate. Maybe it has a stronger signal? I am curious about that blue light thing.

Interesting never new that but at the same time isn't everyone gonna get that Pass? Then you will still have the same traffic on those roads

here in Illinois the toll express lanes are the same you drive on just at the point of the toll you drive under the sensors it does not change the traffic at all
akapounder, from the start i was like you just wanted one to switch from car to car but it got old really quick forgetting to grab it or for getting to hold it up i have 5 cars and just got one for each keeps it simple. here in IL. long as you plate is on your account "if" the transponder is not picked up by the receiver they snap a pic of your plate once they process the pic and find your account they just pull the money out
some one mentioned the transponder has to be far forward? not true all of mine are hidden behind the rear view mirror cant be seen from drivers view except my z06 witch it just sits in the console since the car is not metal it picks it up with out a problem
I hate looking at those damn things, as they stick out like a sore thumb.
I used a heat gun, and pealed the label off of each of mine, then painted them black with Rustoleum plastic paint. Then put the label back on. It really makes them less noticeable. I have velcro on each of by cars, behind the passenger side of the mirror.
