Default DD Mods

My package deal through DD Mods was supposed to be done by end of Feb, or early Mar. It is middle of April and no radio ????
Dennis cannot get a delivery date for these radios from Kenwood ??? So today I called Kenwood, same thing only the Dealers know when they will get their shipment, to that I said how in the world can a Dealer know when you can't tell them ??? Then they told me to buy it from Crutchfield and then they said Oh they don't have any ether ??? Again I tell them it was a group buy and I already paid for the radio ??? So now I have sent them this e-mail !!!!
Kenwood,
I am part of a group buy at DD Mods for this radio Kenwood Excelon DDX793, it was supposed to be available end of Feb then end of Mar now it's the middle of April and no radio. Dennis from DD Mods says you do not give him a ship date, I called today and also got nowhere with you ???? I am stuck because this was a group buy and I will not cancel do to respect for Dennis. I have bought Pioneer products in the past and now I am very sorry I went with Kenwood, I will NEVER buy a Kenwood product again and no matter how good it might be (if I ever get it) I will never give a good word about your products!!!! Paul

Dennis I hope you don't have a issue with this post !!!!!!! (ps I did buy a bezel from e-bay, call it been there did that) So I can drive my vette to the first Cars and Coffee Saturday !!!!!!

Title should be more like "Kenwood wtf?"

I have heard issues with audio dealers in Madison not knowing when Kenwood will send their shipments either My opinion is they are having major issues and are avoiding letting anyone know what is going on...

Dennis has been a great guy and maybe there is a problem with his business expansion. Having dealt with this kind of issues with other small businesses that have growing pains, maybe he can sort it out. I've been waiting on a radio bezel going on a year and a half. I've been patient and hopefully one day it'll be solved.

I didn't buy a backup bezel because mine is Neutral in color and they are expensive if you can find a used one that is undamaged.

I have to wonder if there is another brand radio that Dennis carries that would fit into the bezel modified for the Kenwood.

Right now I am thankful that I haven't cut the shelf for the factory radio or I could be in even deeper doo doo.

At this point I have lost my respect for Kenwood and their product line.
as you can tell from my letter to them, they were horrible on the phone, I DO NOT BLAME DENNIS !!!!!!

1 year and a half? That is terrible. I wonder who else is waiting long as well. I hope that was a typo in your part. If not then that really sucks big time.

I was just at Dennis's shop last Friday to pick up my bezel and we talked a bit about how he is STILL waiting on Kenwood. The new store is not 100% yet and I still use the old one.

Dennis and Donna are great hard working ppl - have a little faith. They are not the only ones waiting on Kenwood to ship radios.

Just keep thinking, a month after you finally get everything installed, you soon forget about the few extra weeks it took to get everything in. Waiting with delays are no fun for sure, but just think about how happy you are going to be with the end result. Dennis no doubt is doing everything he can.

I hear you man. Just trying to help ease the pain. Just focus on the middle of the summer when you are cruising and enjoying the killer set up. It'll come soon.

Hope you guys get your radios soon - sucks to be all ready to get the car out of storage and drive it and have to wait on some parts to arrive - again through no fault of the forum vendor.

I am waiting on the new radio from Dennis so that puts me in the same boat as everyone else. I'm sure Dennis wants to fill the orders that he has so that he can be paid. I'm sure that this radio will be worth the wait!

A few years ago when I ordered my VE interior it was supposed to take about 3 weeks - ended up about 8 months! I was beginning to wonder if I would still have the car when it came in (and I planned to never sell my C5!).

On the plus side - it was worth the wait (if you don't die first).

I guess I'll wait to rip out my bezel until I hear that the logjam is broken.
