Name that part, please!
Been working on my F45 to C6 Z06 shock swap on my 2000 Vert.
While working on the right rear, this fell out.
It's rubber, looks like it was threaded into something. Anyone know what it is, and is it important?

It's a space age polymer.
It actually looks kinda like what would come out of a tube of black RTV after it hardened in the nozzle.

OK,,,, It looks like the rubber covering that GM put on the chassis ground stud G-402.
Look inside the passengers rear wheel well. Between the back of the tire and the wheel well, On the FRAME will be an EMPTY STUD.
That stud is factory covered with a rubber covering just like that:
If yours is missing, THERES YOUR ANSWER!
That Ground Stud is ONLY USED on 97 & early 98 Cars with a rear mounted EBTCM. Its EMPTY/NOT USED on all other C5s.
Do I get the PENNY?
