I believe that they're asking price is a little high, but that's my personal opinion. I've looked at the carfax, vin number, and decoded all the options listed for the car. I've also looked at KBB to see what they say fair value is. I would love some other opinions. Thanks
Asking price may be a tad high but it's a z and being sold through a dealer. From what I seen looks like a nice car, but that's just my opinion from a few states away.
While nobody wants to pay too much, don't let a small price objection kill the deal . Unless you are on the other side of Siberia , good merch will command a non bargain price. Part of the money a dealer earns is selecting good merch, not hard, and a place to seek adjustments after the sale, very hard to retain profit.
Mileage is very important with these cars, because of the expense and complexity of repair.
While I much prefer a convertible , track guys will always be looking for those cars.
The unexpected benefit of a black car is that the only trim bits still available new are black. I don't know if that brings in as many bonus points with a black car in the desert .
GM is one of the best with AC, according to what I heard in TExas.
All the best. If you get the car, a power saw will fix that roof , no sweat.
Bought my 2000 vert a year ago and paid $20k... 26000 miles. If the car is what you want and looks good to you offer $14500 and hope they come down to $15k.... Good luck..... By the way, I sell new Toyotas for a living.
Hello, price seems a little high considering mileage and the interior looks somewhat worn, the exhaust tips are misaligned and the front air dam looks damaged. I look at things like that and it makes me wonder, perhaps needlessly, perhaps not. It seems to have documentation but a thorough one end to the other by a shop or tech ( NOT THEIRS!) fluent in C5's! is an absolute must! Be very careful and do your due diligence! Good luck and best wishes. Oh, almost forgot, make sure to read the stickies at the top of this page, a must do!

I've read through the sticky's many times over. I even printed out the Buying a Corvette checklist for this particular car to avoid missing anything.
I just looked at this one this afternoon. What a sweet car. A little much for me though. I'd rather start with one not quite so many mods on it and make it my own.

Be patient in looking for a corvette. There's plenty out there for sale.
I wish I took this advice I liiiiiiiiiiterally jumped at the first green Vette I saw for sale. Wasn't even looking for Vettes. At the price point C5's come in at, I was looking at Hyundai Genesis's, Mazda RX-8's, etc. Stuff like that. Had no idea you could get a Vette at the same price point, so when I saw one in a color that is not only my favorite, but one I'd never before seen and did not even know they made Vettes in... Yeah jumped right on it lol
Definitely be patient, and if anything sketches you out, jump ship and look for a better deal. Plenty of Vettes for sale means you can be picky.
You HAD to mention it? I know- if I did not have a C5 in the garage I would be thinking of something really dangerous right now (I.e. in a silver format).
OP- Patience is the key and IMHO, I'm not sure why you would consider a dealer. I'm in Colorado and plenty of fine cars thousands cheaper privately than at a dealer and for good reason.... And, you have a much better chance of getting the low down on the car and service records. Many dealer cars (not all) are from auction. I want to know as much about the history as possible and get a decent price... My thoughts...

Honestly, from what I've seen out here in Southern California, dealer prices are lower than private owners. I'm just putting out feelers to see what's all out there.
I had a black '02Z. It had 16k when I bought it, so yeah I was spoiled. I just paid $16250 for a one owner well equipped coupe with 48k. All the Z's in this area are at least $2000 more than coupes unless the mileage is up there as this one is. I'd be careful, and like everyone else here has said, and to quote a friend who's one of the best car negotiators I've ever seen..."there's always another one".

Gotcha. Not the case here at all. However maybe a fly out and drive back is in your future? Good luck either way........
