"Hate being posted"? "never had to defend yourself"? While your out flipping off people driving like mad men I was defending your right to do so. Vietnam, Desert Storm, OIF and Afganistan. No thanks necessary.
I didn't single you out personally, but if you're offended, I apologize. Thanks may not be necessary, but I'll give them anyway. Thank you for your service. It is appreciated.
It is very difficult to back off potential confrontation when you are on the receiving end for sure. Hats off to anyone that can do it and good thing to discuss situations...maybe cooler heads come of it. The Corvette its a target for sure and I have (as most owners) been targeted. My solution has been a simple dash cam or cell phone. When a potential confrontation is happening I simply remove my dash cam (or cell) phone and point at the vehicle and record. When they see they could be the next viral u tube stars they back off. It has worked for me, thankfully in my neck of the woods these ugly people are on the decline, why, I have no idea! I stay off the roads Friday and Saturday nights (after dark) also. Rather be at home relaxing than wrestling some a##hats on the streets! Let it go OP and move on...but re-evaluate and think if something else could have been done differently if the future. Good luck
Giving the finger makes me no better off than two goons who bum rush a single target because they're under the influence/offended? I disagree. Was I wrong to flip the bird? Sure, but I'm not the one who was driving crazy and started the fight. Hop off the high horse, friend.
My point was simply if you hadn't flipped the bird back you would have been alot better off than you were, never said you were no better than them...

Around here everyone loves Corvettes. Just today on a 150 mile road trip we got waves, smiles and thumbs up from other non Corvette cars, folks mowing their lawns, bikers, bicyclists, pedestrians and a farmer on his tractor. In the last 16 years I have never experienced any ill will towards my Vette.
Road rage is getting all too common and can have serious consequences.
When I lived in Phoenix we had a guy in the machine shop that started bragging one day about someone cutting him off in traffic so he followed them. They pulled off into the front yard at their house and he shot them. One person died and the other was hospitalized in serious condition.
We gave a tip to the police and they confirmed he was the one and arrested him. As a result of this, our machine shop had all the windows bricked in to protect our employees from threats. The shooter went to prison for a long time.
I had worked with this guy for about a year and he seemed like a nice normal guy. I don't know what made him snap into a shooter.
As a 30 plus year veteran of law enforcement in a northeast metro area I have seen more than my share of wanna be bad boys. I don't know but it looks like our country is going to hell and its constantly getting worse! What is going on with people? When I was working I dealt with a lot of these damn goblins who victimize who they can, when they feel they can get away with it. Mostly they are cowards, using superior numbers or picking on people they feel cannot defend themselves. I've advised many of them that eventually they will try to victimize the wrong person and pay a very heavy price. Screwing with people you don't know is a dangerous business and once in a while the stars align and a predator goblin gets what they deserve. I don't know about all of you but I'll be damned if I'm going to let myself be victimized. Its just not going to happen! I never go looking for trouble and avoid it if I can but if I'm threatened or feel my safety or that of my family is on the line I will take action without hesitation and without a second thought. Texas is a carry state, both concealed and open, and we have the "castle doctrine". I know that opinions and feelings run high on both sides of this issue, but I will tell you, based on long actual experience, that the chances of the police being in place or close enough to respond quickly enough to prevent violence being done to you or family is very remote. Ultimately, you have to be able to take care of yourself if necessary, and all indications are pointing to things getting worse, not better. All of you please be safe and best wishes! PS: Today my thoughts are with our nations Veterans who gave all!
well said.
i'll be damned if im gonna just lay down and let some scumbag do with me or my loved ones whatever he feels like. i conceal carry for a reason...for MY protection. i would rather not have to shoot, but if they put me in that position, f'em, game over.

I truly believe that if the LEO would start pulling over people for "following too close", "failure to signal", "aggressive driving", "failing to yield", and any other of the driving violations that happen on a daily basis, people might just start respecting each other.
But, I've heard every excuse as to why that is not possible.
I just call the cops every time I see someone tailgating another driver, or acting irrationally. I give them excellent descriptions and hope that the cops will either do the right thing, or start doing the right thing after they are tired of being bothered.

You'd be making those calls while stopped in a safe location I presume?

It's definitely getting more dangerous out there. I am always more fearful of an intentional confrontation than an accident when in the C5!
With all the sensationalism that professional media organizations gin up on a daily basis to get ratings combined with the Internet and especially Social Media (polite term for social disease) and every human being now being a walking drone with a recording device, it is going to get REALLY BAD!
I see rebellion everywhere I turn, it is just still mostly dormant looking for a "trigger". Shooting someone the finger back for some will be that "trigger" - they did not flip you off out of "love", they are looking for any excuse for a confrontation at that point. Others will come after you without any provocation whatsoever. I have had to break traffic laws on several occasions to avoid escalating situations. I avoid slowing down to the point of stopping at traffic lights whenever possible to avoid getting trapped between cars. I have had to run two red lights so far just due to some "rednecks in pickup trucks" gunning their engine behind me and jumping their breaks to see how close they can get to my rear bumper before I would get out a start a fight.

I just don't see that here in Wisconsin. Possibly maybe because there are fewer rednecks. We have traveled all over the state and have never had any problem at all.
I recommend not visiting Indiana. I get tired of the road rage directed at me when I'm in the vette. Hard to believe people are jealous over an 18 year old Chevy.
But then my 97 Tahoe compares favorably to a good number of the cars in town.
Keep the window up, car running and pay attention, sometimes the bad guy has the gun. It's funny as irrational as the one guy is in the second video, he respects the guy in the uniform (not even a cop) and easily moves away when asked. We really do need to respect law enforcement as a society or it will get even worse in the future. We all need to expect we may come accross a crazed person at some point..... who knows what is going on in there life to make them so crazy in the moment, what do you think would have happened if the kid got out? There was something seriously going on with the guy outside the car IMO, he was so angry, he was almost crying himself!
That is how to avoid a confrontation that could end up in serious harm if cooler heads did not prevail.
Ps,,,,not seeing any hate towards my Vette, road rage is not model specific.
At least not around here.
