Firstly, I need to say hello from NZ, and this is my first post so bear with me please... I have a 2002 Z06 corvette and am curious why I have a small indicator lamp on both front fenders just ahead of the windscreen where I see there should be a Z06 405hp emblem. Can anyone explain if this is correct? Car is very original and not ex Japan. Many thanks in advance
Indicator light? Like a turn signal indicator light or a side marker? Don't know, does it look factory or something a previous owner did? I'll be interested to hear what members say. Have a good one!

Do the other cars in NZ have side maker signal lites? I am guessing your Z is for export.

I believe he is taking about the marker light that was on the export models like the car below.
There are a lot of specific items with export cars.
The fender mounted side-marker (side repeater) light is OEM for all export markets that are not Canadian. All other export markets specifically in the continent of Europe and country of Japan received the side marker lamps.
Typical were also amber rear marker lamps (a color change from the red OEM lamps), large fog lamp reflectors below the tail lights (these do not appear in all export markets), amber signal lamps built into the rear tail lamps, specific garnish plate for larger Euro plates (plates in Japan are just slightly larger than US plates), and metric markets received a 300 KPH speedo. All the aforementioned potential issues have variations depending on country. If you are in New Zealand then it sounds like your car was potentially built for a Euro or Japanese market, as I do not believe NZ received cars officially through export (someone can correct me on that).
I have never actually seen an image of a C5 Z06 export car now that I think of it. Most that have gone overseas are your run-of-the-mill targas or convertibles. There were both targa fastbacks and fixed-roof-coupes (99-00 FRCs, non Z06 cars) used as pace cars at Le Mans and such but all of those were not equipped with the fender lamps, I guessing likely because they weren't intended for actual street use.
Yes, that's the badge that's missing. Mine has a clear (?) light same position as black 02 has posted. Looks like there's lots of info coming through. Thanks heaps to all the interested responses !!
My apologies to you Bellvine, I answered your post with a query but did not offer you welcome or good luck with your Z. So you now have both and I've been educated a bit by responses from other members. Best wishes to you! By the way, I've always been fascinated by your country, I try to watch everything that comes up on it. Just beautiful from what I can see from my arm chair. Haven't made it there yet in my travels but its on my bucket list. Take care!

Well thank you friou, Yes I am only recently the proud owner of the C5 Z06. Obviously it is a tad rare in NZ and this one is in very good condition, and worth looking after. The Corvette forum has been already a big help, and I feel sure I will be back.
I'm pleased to hear that NZ has a fond impression and yes, I guess you are right regards it's beauty. Like everywhere we live in a free country maybe we take it for granted. Would love to see you down this way !! Cheers indeed
Congrats on your Z be sure to get your LMC5 Module and install it
Well after I said that I don't know if the "export" models have the column lock issue ... we will need someone with more expertise than I have to answer that question...
