Default Scrapey Scrapey?

Do most of you c5'ers scrape the under carriage ALOT? (i.e. on speed bumps, drive way gulleys, etc?) I am wondering what is normal to scrape and what's not. I believe my car was lowered by the previous owner. It looks good, but I'd rather people look at the car cause it's hot, not because it can't go over a small bump without making an awful noise. It's just the plastic piece under the front bumper, but I still don't like it.

Take speed bumps and driveways on angles. My 99 couple was lowered all the way on stock bolts. No issues if I just went slow and angled.

I always drag my front lip on steep transitions, but it's soft enough to flex without damage. My car is lowered about halfway on stock bolts.

Same as mine...I'd like to go lower, but anymore would make it too difficult to enjoy in my situation.

I run stock height..NO scraping, grinding or bad nerves driving in strange 'hoods not knowing what lies around the next corner. (Was thinking of having a lift kit installed, lol)

Stock 02 Z- I scrapped quite a bit and backing out of my driveway was a calculated angled precision exercise comparable to a Blue Angels maneuver . I got the factory F1's off and replaced tires and now I can just cruise right out.... Much less scraping overall but speed bumps are mothers.....

The biggest dragger is the center "air scoop" that's spring loaded. I trimmed mine about 3/4" and I don't scrape at all even though my car is lowered. I also take speed bumps slowly and at an angle, which helps.
I took off the end dams, too, due to the addition of a splitter.

The owners' VHS tape states that a good way to take speed bumps - and the way I do it - is to slow down almost to an absolute crawl, and then SPEED UP over the bump. When you accelerate from a very slow speed, you force all the weight inertia to the rear of the car, lifting the front up slightly (it helps that the C5 is effectively a front mid-engined vehicle with a rear transaxle). This is usually enough to clear most speed bumps without scraping the front air dams.

Over driveways or similar road thresholds, it's all about becoming accumulated to every entry and exit angle possible.

Mine is lowered about an inch on stock bolts. The front air dam scrapes a lot when driving through dips or up driveways. No biggie since it is flexable anyway. The rockers scraped a couple of times when entering my parking garage at work as I was not familiar with that car at that time since I had just bought it. I have since installed some Fat Mommas to protect the front end and installed some frame rails from Elite Engineering for the sides. I have also learned to slow down and take things at an angle.

Mainly just scrape that front air damn thing which retracts. As low as I am no real issues just avoid big speed bumps

SuperTom, that is a clean car you got! I like those silver trim pieces over the side.

Removed the side dams... trimmed the middle dam 2" and lowered the car about 1"... 160 stat and reprogrammed fans ...
I don't drag anymore than I did when it was bone stock and it does NOT run hot...

Stock height - everyday, several times a day for 16 years - steep driveway. Constantly waking up the neighbors.
