Got a sister out there thought I would go for a visit Carlisle is rite neer where she lives made my wife think it's a road trip to visit her no idea carlisles my evil plan
Also wondering if othe vette owners were going out from California. We could run out as a group of corse that might just spoil my evil plan ya think!!?
If you do drive all the way, and you have lots of time, I suggest you finish your trip through PA on the Lincoln Highway. Lots of nice little towns and in many areas better pavement than the Pa turnpike.
Two weeks will be very hurried and a complete ball buster. You will be exhausted, the Carlisle experience will suffer and by the time you get home you will hate life.
My bride and I just did 18 days consecutive from South Florida to Flagstaff, Cortez, Durango, Silverton, Cripple Creek, Pikes Peak and back home. 5,500 miles of smiles because we limited driving to, usually, less than six hours a day and had some days planned into the trip as activity/relax days.
My wife and I are both truck drivers it's only 30 hrs by team maybe less depends on fast we can drive (break out the radar)lol
Nah were used to the drive it's gunna be a blast I figure one maybe two days Carlisle then visit maybe run down to ky. For the museum buy a brick it's s road trip
Has anybody made the trip from calf.?
Or are planing to go next year?
I did, but only because I bought my first Corvette in San Diego and drove it back to my former home in Pa.
You don't think about these trips in terms of practicality, you think of them in terms of "you get one life on this planet, tell me why you WOULDN'T drive your Corvette to Carlisle and back?"
I15 through Utah and I70 through Colorado are some of the best interstate highways in the country. Not to mention the amazing roads that branch off if you have time.
Do it,..............just give yourself as much time as you can spare. I did Richmond, Virginia to Anchorage, Alaska via the Alcan Highway (about 5500 miles). Virginia to Nevada, California to Virginia. All were big fun.
Think about all the places you have been, the flights you have taken.........you remember little just a bit. That does not happen with an epic road trip,......I remember those trips vividly. And always will,........life is nothing more than experiences,.....drive your car. I have put 60k on my car in 10 years.
