I know for sure when my wife and I go to build our next house (6-8 years) the garage will be roughly 30x40 (Each ride will have 13x30 space roughly). I also plan on building a separate building away from the house.
Current Garage (20x22 - Worthless).
I'm retiring in a couple years and my goal is to hopefully find a place with an outdoor building/shop. I'm thinking about the same size you want, maybe 30x45.

I can afford to build bigger, but this is as-large-as I can go on my property (set-backs, septic, etc.), and it'll do fine for maintaining my 1979 Z28 race car, protecting my 2003 C5, housing my small sheet-metal gage-making shop, and A/C'd storage in the attic
